Hello all,

I don't want you to think that I only saw bad things in El Salvador, the country is beautiful.  I went to los planes de rendero and it was beautiful, the food, the people, the beach. No, don't take me wrong I am not saying that all is bad.  I am just saying that I experience some bad things.  But some nice ones too.

It was an eye opener for me. but overall I am glad I had this experience.

If you ever go to Nicaragua, don't even TRY to say that... you'll end up in jail!!!

@ Yesi: I'm so sad to hear that your experience was so negative, but maybe you had high expectations about the country. Life in our countries is like night and day compared to Canada (why do you think we all live here?) but you have to visit with an open mind. Although that dead man on the street would've scared the bravest of tourists. It's too bad you had to see that, and to tell yo the truth, I'm really surprised, 'cause as bad as our countries are, I've never heard of such a thing.

Hello everyone, I just came back from my holiday trip to El Salvador and OMG, I could not have been more dissapointed.  Most of you know that I was born in El Salvador and at the age of 2 moved to Mexico. Then moved to Canada when I was 13. Anyway going to El Salvador I was very excited I was going to finally meet my mom's family and people I did not know existed.  Anyway I get to San Salvador Airport and the first thing I get is like 5 teenagers fighting with each other to help us carried the luggage. After the third day I wanted to come back. we take for granted all the conforts we have here until we are without them.  I mean down there my grandmas house did not have hot water, so everytime I wanted to shower I needed to put a few pots on the stove. It was a nightmare.  She only had one T.V. so we had to watch her soap all day.  Every time I went out anywhere man would make comments about my butt, chest and legs, I even got called a bird or something. Sexual harrasment all the way and apparently this happens everyday.  Women are so use to it there. WOW I thought it was scary. Anyway driving to the beach I saw a dead person lying on the street, he had a hole in his back and there was blood everywhere. Kids where all around him and I was in shock.  I guess they are use to seeing this kind of thing.  Anyway I am glad I went and I had this eye opener experience but I can tell you that I am never going back.  Great things about El Salvador: Food, Beach, Pupusas and Chalatenango SO anyway this was my experience, tell us yours. Yesi

I am sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience. Unfortunatly this is mostly the reality of all the Central and South American countries. But they are still nice and have beautifull pple

On the first day I would have taken for granted all the confort that we have here. Aren't you glad to be back??

When I lived in Panama we only had one TV but we rarely watched it and if we did it was for the soaps that's why I'm hooked on the Novelas.

that sounds really bad... but every country has its good and bad sides...

I'm not sure I would comment on how bad my country is doing though... people already know the situation in most south american countries, why put it down even more....

Hello everyone,

I just came back from my holiday trip to El Salvador and OMG, I could not have been more dissapointed.

It was a nightmare.  She only had one T.V. so we had to watch her soap all day.  Every time I went out anywhere man would make comments about my butt, chest and legs, I even got called a bird or something. Great things about El Salvador: Food, Beach, Pupusas and Chalatenango

SO anyway this was my experience, tell us yours.
