I though you were talking about M16 the rifle. ( Just kidding).

Yes, i've seen it too in the Hubble telescope web page.  Those pictures are just amazing, I've seen them also in Jehova's Witnesses magazines where they explain about them.  I remember taking " The Universe" in college and was amazed to find out that everything comes from that humble Hydrogen element, each atom obtained gradually one more proton and electron ( by fussin I beleive) until transforming into what they are now.  So we all are descendent of that magic hydrogen atom. Thanks God, but I wish I was a bit taller jejeje

I remember seeing these pics some time ago

I love this stuff, and the numbers on dimensions and distances are so "astronomical" it is virtually impossible to even imagen them.

Do you know the size of these nebulas? (I remember some ridiculous #)

Gaseous Pillars part of the Eagle Nebula

I love the images the Hubble Telescope takes.

And when you think about it...........These pillars are approximately 7,000 light years away.......ONE light-year is equal to 9,500,000,000,000 kilometers..........and the speed of light is only 299 792 458 m/s

So we're looking at images of things that happened billions of years ago..........Imagine what those things actually look like now....
