OH those............ummmmm i love those!!! SO he makes them huh!!! K, i'm calling him very soon!!! THanks for letting me know!!!
I used to buy those at that Chileno bakery that used to be at Keele and Sheppard!! I wonder if they just closed down or moved somewhere else!! Esa senora used to make that cake for me as well. As you can tell, i only buy chileno cakes. I hate white people cakes!!

Two questions: Can you tell me who "the guy" is and whether he lives closer to the east than the guys from Duport/Bathurst? Does anyone know someone who makes chileno cakes close to Scarbourough/Durham?
I can give you the guys info, but he lives in Etobicoke. So i think the Dupont and Bathurst is still closer to you!!! Girl you need to move more into the city!!!
Please, in the future, refer to me as "neruda" not "Neruda". I know no one would ever confuse me with Pablo, but there are those who are not as "sophisticated*" and would fail to distinguish the two. *note: sophisticated =fell out of that stupid tree.
If sophisticated = fell out of that stupid tree.
Then not sophisticated = didn't fall out of that stupid tree
And since Neruda (sorry, fuerza de costumbre = good grammar)...
neruda = sophisticated Then neruda =
anybody?

It's called "La Rosa Chilena", and in the same plaza there are 2 stores, one is the restaurant, and the other is the bakery. It's on Wilson just west of Dufferin on the north side like trucho said.
Oh, i know that place. I forgot about that one!!
@ DOGO - maybe we should have a small gathering at your place and buy some chileno cakes. We can all try it together!!!

Does your mom make them to sale or you are just the lucky ones that have their mothers that can bake good cakes?

Dogo wrote: Shit! I thought this was serious help you needed!!!!!!! A thread to look for empanadas y torta????!!!!!! Wata.... This is a serious thread!!! I can't find the person who ususally does it for me!!!
Try the guy at Dupont and Bathurst. This is a store that makes tortas chilenas. I can't remember the name, but if you check la guia hispana you'll find them there.
BTW, if anyone knows someone who makes these tortas in the east, let me know. I can't drive all the way downtown for tortas chilenas, as much as I like them. If someone can TEACH ME how to make them, even better.
