I agree with you LB, i think those might be the reasons why people have called and e-mailed Alex. No doubt that Alex is a great singer/performer and a very outgoing person!! I enjoy listening to his music.
Fito has accomplished a lot in the US. I remember a few months back, i was watching MUN2 and i saw a commercial advertising a Reggaeton CD with many artists on it and one of the artists was FITO BLANKO. I was so proud cause one of our TO performers made it on that CD!! Anyways, i knew Fito would win, he's a great singer/performer!! He's also so sweet to talk to!!
The reason why I think people have been telling you this is simply becuase in the "local" scene, you are more active.....and more "personally" known....meaning, that people have a personal relationship with you....even a simple hand shake....and you always return emails, phone calls....etc
AND....since mostly Toronto people voted at the Awards, by popularity and seeing you everywhere, they would think that you should have won.... That's what I think anyway.....
Without a doubt though.....this year was a good year for FITO.....and he has opened doors for many people in the US....by the simple fact that he represents TO......for this simple reason, and all his "higher level" accomplishments...LOL....(inside joke).....he deserved the award....
FITO BLANKO'S "Higher Level" Album would make a really nice CHRISTMAS GIFT!

Hi everyone, once again I would like to thank everyone for voting to help your favorite artist to win at the Latin industry Awards.
Now I have been approach by so many people and have received several e-mails on the topic that I should had won artist of the year. Honestly I don’t and would had not deserve that award if it had come to me, right from the get go I said no one but Fito deserves that award, he has done so much more, MTV, The Roof on Mu2, Much Music, HTV and many other channels of entertainment. Come on how can he not, I have only done promotional event’s I am truly thankful for the nomination but I did not belong there this year.
Fito I have mad respect for you, I love your work and fell honor to be part of one of the tracks in your album. Congratulation on winning the urban music award last night and may God bring you many more success in your music carrier. Y ya tu sabes lo que hablamos manito, eso consideralo un hecho jejejeje
