@ Daeveed: Ages are young to old, mostly caucasian women, 2 trekkies and a gay guy... they all drink like fish.

@ Genie: I'm downtown, a little west of university. Most restaurants around here are sooooo expensive and we've done the same thing for many years now.

Just DIVIDE the XMAS BUDGET in equal parts and have them party their own way at their own time - $$$ is good for anyone!

Sorry, i have the same problem here at work. We don't know where to do our Christmas Lunch?

I'm helping organize the Xmas party luncheon in my department and we just had a meeting and the choices are not that great. We work in the entertainment district, don't have the greatest budget and we have 18 people in my department. So far we have three choices: local restaurant, just sit, eat and drink for 4 hours; japanese restaurant (tamaguchi or whatever you call those new trendy sit-on-the-floor places), far and we have to rent a bus; or something like the docks where we can eat, play golf or something and still take a bus.

What would be something innovative (and affordable) that you guys would choose? Can you help me, please? What has your company done that was fun, yummy and reasonable?
