being a truck driver i get to see alot of the USA and there is nothing more beautiful than crossing the border back into my favorite land (canada) i drive proudly with 2 canadian flags mounted on my truck and i always get some ignorant American telling me why don't i have an American flag and i tell them that i'm proud to be a latin/canadian . Don't get me wrong there are some beautiful places in the USA ( texas, arizona ,and new mexico ) these are places that i coud get used to living in , but new york has the greatest diversity in latinos of all south america. it is to busy of a place to live but great to party.

I haven't had the chance to travel all over CANADA......so I can only judge on Toronto....

I like TORONTO because it's:

Multicultural, Relatively Safe, OHIP helps, OSAP helps, Fall & Spring are nice.....

What I don't like about Toronto.....

The depressed people and their attitude.....the untolerable winter days, the cost of living.....

Overall I give this City an 8 out of 10......

But in Comparison to Madrid (for example)....i give this city a 5.....Just because it lacks "LIFE"

Canada is definitively a great country to live in. Especially here, in Toronto, the people do welcome you and you have this felling right away that life is going to be good here.

There are so many different communities living in good harmony here. Racism is inexistent compare to other country and especially if we take a look to our closet neighbor, which is lecturing the world about making it a better place but is not even able to take care of his own backyard.

Violence is very little compare to other places, even if we heard about it a little too much in the news lately but I am sure it will be over during the winter.

For me winter is not such a big deal and makes me appreciate even more the summer.

But most importantly, this is a land of opportunity, where you really have the chance to growth as a person in you personal and professional life, a chance to build a better future for you and your family.

There are so many things I love about this country. It would be impossible to list them all.

I love the fact that canadian scientists went down to antartica and met a fellow meteorologist from chile (my father) struggling to establish a career and took him under their wing and set him up here with a wonderful career.

That Canadians (not other latinos- hmm funny) helped my family in their times of need during our early years.

That my father would always raise the canadian flag on our porch on Canada day.

That my father is now burried(as were his last wishes) here in Canada.

That my girlfriend and my soon to be fiance is Canadian (yes its true folks)

and other many other reasons.

i love canada, but hate the winter.. and the fact that people can be a little bit uptight and cold.

i will most probably be moving to the states (not that this is any b etter) within two or three years for professional reasons.

I love this country. I love the fact that there are people from many different countries that live here. There isn't as much violence here compared to other countries, and the majority of the people that I have met here are friendly. One thing that I really don't like is the cold weather, but I rather go through a cold winter vs going through hurricanes, earthquakes, and other natural dissaters that many countries go through every year. This country also gives you the chance to make something out of yourself, and make and have a better life for yourself and your family. I don't think that I would be able to adapt to living in another country, because I'm so use to the way of life here in Canada. Canada in general may not have so much cultural things of its own, but I think that all the ethnic backgrounds make up what we call Canadian culture. One thing that I love about this country is that there isn't much racism here, sure there are some idiots out there, but the majority of the people here are accepting when it comes to other races and other people's cultures. I also love this country, because if I never had come here I would never have met the love of my life and my soulmate.

I started this post trying to get an idea of what people think about Canada...she mentioned that she would LOVE to move to Miami so I said and I quote "DONT THINK I AM BEING BTICHY BUT WHY NOT GO?????????? WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR????? As in why not make the move if you are not happy? Why not take the plunge and move to MIAMI!!! I am not sure why I bother responding to you....I am sure you will come back even more confused....as ususal!!!!!!! READ....THINK....POST try doing things in that order!

I just got back from the states and let me tell you how relaxed I felt when I crossed that border back into Canada. Americans are so rude and they were not rude to me just because I am Canadian, because it’s not like I was walking around with my flag on my face. This waitress on Sunday gave me a stare, that if looks could kill I would have been died long time ago. I saw the biggest CRACK HEAD ever …. And believe me I have seen a lot of crack heads. This lady was in PLUTO she wanted to beg for money but her lips couldn’t stop moving and her eyes wanted to pop out of her socket. CANADA might be a bit colder then some parts of the states but I can always vacation some where hot when I need a heat fix. Crime in the states puts our asses to shame and the threat of terrorism is always in the back of your mind when you are in the states.

K these r my thoughts :

I love this country for "specific" reasons, opportunities, free health care, safe society (for the most part)...so many resources that are just at a hand away to help u better urself in life. Basicaly i associate canada with a country of chances and overall to make$$$$$$.Now when it comes to social life this is what I have to say.

Considering the fact that i lived in my country for a couple of years . Its easy to compare both realities. Life in Toronto and north america overall can get very routinley..what do i mean by rountiley? work work work home work weekends do things u need to do around the house..catch up on things, party hard for a bit. and before u know it its monday again work work work go home rest work etc....So as u can see u spend most of ur time at ur job then home. Its annoying many times..that its hard to even see my own family during the week cause were soo busy.

Winter sucks a$$$$$$ here i dont care if u people can snowboard, ski or make the best out of it, its a total burden like a brick wall that prevents you from going out doing things u wanna do cuz its soo god dammm cold..Putting on layers of clothing like an eskimo is ridiculous especially when you get to somewhere indoors and you soficate like no tomorrow. On top of that we have , winter months r soo long that even sometime by mid april its still cold .

Summer time is great here but unfortunetly!!!! its for a short time lol..and even some summers r not even as hot and pleasent as promised (summer 2004..for example).

A little more of a "latino" vibe wouldnt hurt here as well. west indians have carribana, portuguese and italian people have their own areas , jewish people have their own areas, chinese south asians etc..have huge communities, and us latinos are still a minority.

I wouldnt trade canada for the US ever. BUTTT!! One thing i luv about it there( NY miami NJ LA etc)..the latin scene!!!! its just amazing NY for example..i can walk down a street on queens and have any food from back home by a hand away...and i aint talking about one specific restaurant ..hell noo lol theres strips malls areas full of hispanics doing their things its just amazing cuz i was never used to seeing that before.

So in conclussion..b4 any of you jump into conclusions telling me to go back home etc..For the record I love this country..proud to be born here BUTTTT!! there r things that could help it make it a bit more "live" . But thats to much to ask for, we cant ever have everything in life right??.

on a side note..i dont feel that i could live here forever , i hope that when im retired years years from now. I can be somwhere hot and tropical ;) cheers!!

I think Canada is a gr8 country and I'm very happy to live here....yeah, the winters suck in a way but over all its a gr8 place.....

by the way a little bit of info...on the list for the the best cities to live in world Canada has 3 of them: Vancuver being #1 in the world, Toronto #9, and Calgary #10.

I got a solution 4 u crazy, u want 2 live in the U.S. so bad, apply 4 a job in the U.S. and get a working visa that way, I have been 2 many places in the U.S. ( just visiting I came directly to canada from el salvador ) and I have alot of family there 2, but hell no I love Toronto I think this is the place 2 be we have many services here that PPL in the U.S. pay alot of money 2 get, I have many frinds in the U.S. and most of them tell me they wish they could move and live in canada...
