You can't really choose just one...there are sooo many people that have put latin american people on the map....in the past, as much as today....
everyone from Che...to Frida....to Eva Peron....to John Leguizamo...and yeah...even Jennifer Lopez.... GOOD GOD!! Even Cheech.... Los del Mar..ajajajja and Maradona.... (and many many many more....)

i would say bolivar or san martin, but they were mostly concerned with independence and not changing the social structures in our countries as guevara intended...i would also have to say castro, rigoberta menchu, mercedez sosa an now our beloved chavez
I would have to go with Fidel, but only for this century. Even Che was inspired by el barbudo. I might not agree 100% with all the things he's done, but I believe he's the greatest latin american alive right now. In a close second, I'll have to say Rigoberta Menchu.

I don't think there is one person that all latin american countries can regard as the greatest. I think there are many great latin americans, but I can't think of a single one that could be regarded as the greatest one ever.
Maybe I'll go with Baina on this one. Simon Bolivar.

Why, cause he was the voice of the Innocent and the poor in a time in my country were violence and guns were the answer 2 my country's social problems, he show us by standing up and voicing our opinions 2 the government you could make a difference in my country.
