I STRONGLY BELEIVE ONCE A CHAETER...ALWAYS A CHEATER...
I HAVE THIS FRIEND, THAT IS GOING OUT WITH THIS GIRL FOR 6 YEARS NOW...ON AND OFF...HE STATES THAT HE IS NOT IN LOVE WITH HER ANYMORE BUT HE CAN NOT LEAVE HER...
NOW THE QUESTION EVERYONE RIGHT NOW MUST BE ASKING IS...WHY?
WELL...HE SAYS THAT HE IS COMFORTABLE WITH HER AND SHE IS TO INTO THE FAMILY AND HE WILL JUST CHEAT ON HER IF THEY EVERY GET MARRIED. NOW THIS GUY HAS NO BALLS...I TELL HIM ALL THE TIME BUT IT'S LIKE TALKING TO A BRICK WALL...
HE COMPLAINS AND COMPLAINS THAT HE CAN'T EVEN LOOK AT HER...HE CAN'T BE INTIMATE WITH HER...SHE MAKES HIM NERVOUS...ETC...
BASICALLY...THIS GUY HAS CHEATED ON HER MANY MANY TIMES...AND HE DOES NOT CARE...AND WILL NEVER CHANGE...
SO WHAT I SAY ABOUT ALL OF THIS...KARMA...AND KARMA IS GOING TO HIT BIG...!!!

Some cheaters need to cheat because it makes them feel good, they actually think that cheating is ok....there are probably many reasons why they are still in a relationship. For example I know somebody that decided to cheat on his wife because she kept insisting that he was cheating on her so he decided to go ahead and cheat since she was already accusing him...to him this a good enough reason...
Well, I could hardly blame the guy. It's not that ethically it was a good reason but psychologically it explains the cheating. On Ladybug's thread: "Question",I wrote about Kohlberg's theory on how people acquired their moral reasoning. I'm pretty sure this guy was in his early primary stages of moral development.
Did you know it's dangerous to put a label on someone or accuse them of something (falsely or not), because they will live up to that? This is especially dangerous when they are young or in the early stages of learning to differentiate between right and wrong. They've got nothing else to lose.

I THINK IT'S SAD THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO RESORT TO LAME EXCUSES LIKE THIS TO JUSTIFY THEIR ACTIONS!!!!

I don't see why any "prospect", as you say, would need to know. The past is over and done with and you just learn from it. However, my husband does know but doesn't hold anything against me. Would it be fair for him to judge me on all that I've done in the past or vice versa?
How is wat lahtina said FUNNY?...i dont really think u need to tell ur other bf's that u have cheated before unless they ask u...they dont NEED to know... everyone makes mistakes...u jus gotta learn from them...jus b/c you cheated once doesnt mean u will cheat again

I frickin' hated the guy I was with anyway. Why didn't I break up in the first place? Immaturity. I felt sorry for him, he was really nice to me and up until I met the other guy, I didn't have anything better to do (NO PUN intended, I'm serious! LOL) .
This is funny – I can’t help but laugh . . .
After you cheated and the relationship was over, did you share this information with your new prospects?
Do you think it is wise to share this information with new BF’s ?

Welcome the foru Leandro!! But I agree that people change, but I also agree that once a cheater is always a cheater, me personally before I cheat I prefer telling the person that I am with, telling him that is over, now if the situation happen de la noche a la mañana then I would tell the person that I am with, the truth of what happen
WELCOME TO EL FORO! SOME PPL ARE NOT LIKE YOU SOME DONT HAVE THE BALLS TO TELL THERE SUGNIFICANTE OTHER SO CONGRATS TO YOU
Thanks! I've been around for a while but never found the chance to post. You are right, it takes a lot of courage to tell your partner you don't love her anymore. It's very hard. But that's better than just lying.
You Cheat when you don't love the person you are with anymore. If you are in that situation you might as well just leave her and don't lie to her. If somebody is capable of cheating once, they can do it again. Doesn't mean they are going to for sure, but there is always the possibility. Personaly, I just tell her my feelings for her are not there anymore and that I need to move on, instead of lying and hurting her even more.

I USED TO THINK ONCE A CHEATER ALWAYS A CHEATER BUT PPL DO CHANGE AND SITUATIONS DO CHANGE! MY FATHER IS THE BIGGEST CHEATER PLAYER OF ALL TIME! TRUST ME WITH 9 KIDS AND I HAVE A SISTER 5MTHS OLDER THEN ME TRUST ME HES A PLAYER HAD WOMEN LEFT RIGHT AND CENTER!!
POINT BEING NOW HES MARRIED AGAIN AND HASNT CHEATED ON THIS WIFE AT ALL COULD BE THAT SHE HAS HIM BY THE BALLS BUT I GUESS U JUST FIND THAT PERSON THAT U DONT FEEL THE NEED TO LOOK FOR ANYONE ELSE!

Once A Cheater Always A Cheater . . . How Do You Feel About This ? This Should Be Interesting . . . WoooHooo ! ! ! -- Edited by El Representante at 23:00, 2005-11-14
I dont agree....people change, circumstances change.
You may not have felt 100% with the person that you cheated on, but you may be crazy in love with the current person and not cheat on them. It all depends on circumstances, how strong or weak your feelings were towards that other person, the level of commitment you guys had agreed upon, it depends on a lot of things.
Cheating is wrong, but if a person cheats, obviously there is something lacking in that relationship.
once a cheater will always be a cheater that's a theory, I don't understand why men and women because women do it too............ now all you foro women don't get mad with me but we have to be honest. women do cheat too, but not as much as men because unfortunally we have guilty concience, and at the end we either END the relationship or we tell the TRUTH, as for men NO ofcourse they have no GUILT, they have no feeling for the girlfriend or the other girl they always want to have the cake and the cherrie later................ I don't think so a men that cheats will never change once a dog will always be a dogggggggggggggggggg (LOL) DON'T HATE ME NOW FOR GIVING MY OPINION YOU POSTED THIS THREAD............(LMAO)
I don't buy the "once a cheater, always a cheater" dictum. I agree that the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour but it's not always accurate. Remember that real life doesn't always cooperate with what theory says should happen, especially when you're talking about what a single individual will do in a given set of circumstances.
That dictum is a cliché. You can't generalize. Say I cheated when I was 19. Say I also started driving when I was 19 and I was horrible. To say "once a cheater, always a cheater" is like saying "once a bad driver, always a bad driver". Human beings are always trying to improve, do better, or feel better.
If your current bf or gf cheats on you, then you're faced with a different matter. The trust has been broken and perhaps can never be recuperated again. The bases of the relationship are shattered. Worrying about him/her cheating again is justified but if you can't ever trust the person again, why would you want to be with them?
everyone makes mistakes...im not saying that cheating is ok...cause it isnt..but i dont believe once a cheater always a cheater...ppl learn from there mistakes ....and if u did it once..that doesnt mean u will do it again...
If you cheat on some one, then you have no business being with that person. How can you have strong feelings for a person if you can weaken so easily when they're not around. How can you respect the person you are with if you can do that to them?
