Chilenita's thread just gave me an idea...... WOULD YOU GUYS EVER GO ON THOSE MATCH MAKING SHOWS OR SINGLES CHAT ROOMS TO FIND A LIFETIME PARTNER? NO FLINGS...I MEAN SERIOUSLY LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO SETTLE DOWN WITH.... AND.... HOW MANY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE BY YOUR PARENTS? (BELIVE IT OR NOT, THEY ACTUALLY HAVE SOME GOOD BENEFITS) LIST PROS AND CONS ON BOTH IDEAS......

No, I wouldn't go on those shows or chat rooms to find a lifetime partner, just because I am scared and you never know who is really on the other side of the computer chatting with you LOL.  HOWEVER my close friend did it and now she is married with kids, with the same guy and very happy.  Eh..you never know.

I know a lot of people, mostly older ones, go to a "Yenta" (yiddish word for Matchmaker).  They actually seem to do a good job at hooking people up.

Dating Sites: I don’t think I could take a dating site as a serious way of getting something long term/marriage… I would consider using it for play, fun… but to look for a LIFE TIME PARTNER, naaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Arranged Marriages: Nothing against them, may work for some… I’m just glad, it’s not our culture’s way – I don’t like other’s picking the socks  am going to wear with an outfit, never mind having someone else – even if it’s my parents – pick who I am going to spend the rest of my life with!

NO, i would never go to those match making shows or chat rooms!!! You never know who you are going to meet.

I would definately have a problem if my marriage was arranged!!! You need to meet and get to know the person before getting to the next step!! Though i have an Indian friend who's marriage was arranged!! They got married 3 years ago and they are so in love with eachother, to the point that when they first met they used to sneak out to see eachother.(cause you are not allowed to go out with the future spouse until you are married)

So in some cases it works out!!!
