@Chilenita: I passed by that suchi place on yonge & Sheppard, it's simply called 'Sushi Bar' it's right besides Mr Greek (north side)....but I wasn't hungry at the time (I had churrascos waiting for me at home).

but now I know where it is, and I'll give it a try sometime soon.

You are welcome Mc OSiris, I have to add that these bacteria is also found in many tropical countries food, for this reason I also avoid ceviches since they are not fully cooked by heat, if Helicobacter Pylory can survive the stomach acid it can also survive the weaker lemon acid I think.

I've tried Sushi , it's ok but I prefer to eat cooked food, there are several bacteria and parasites that can live and trive in raw food, especially raw meat. I know what people say, don't worry it's all clean, but I think that the cook doesn't have a microscope handy.

I looove sushi, but I agree that it's an acquired taste. I would've never thought of having sushi like 5 years ago, and now I even crave it. Best one I've had is at a place called Ho Su, at John and Queen. It's a Korean restaurant and if you're not in the mood for sushi they have many other things that are just delish! And they give you TONS of food. Mmmm... sushi...

It is cooked......The acidity from the lemon cooks the fish........Some people pore some boiling water over the fish....to speed up the process......but I'd consider that to be cooked....

The best sushi i've had was as an appetizer when I went to this place called Kinda-Taste of Japan in Markham.  We went for the Teppanyaki dinner, which I highly recommend, but we had some sushi before the meal and it's amazing.
