Im gonna reply to both topics running on this thread, ready? k here I go
Topic I:
George Lopez and Paul Rodriguez are funny, but they aint THAT funny. Paul used to be better before, the Quentin special was probably the best one. Personally, and I know Ive probably said this before I like Carlos Mencia the best. He's hillarious. Its different than the other Latino comics cause not only does he make fun of the differences between Latinos and the other. he also gets into the differences between Latinos themselves. All the other comics seem to think Latinos are just some huge homogeneous mass of people.
Topic II:
Non Spanish speaking Latinos are still Latinos. As such we should still recognize their achievements and be proud of them. Personally If I were only given 2 choices Id rather my kid becomes a CEO of an mayor international conglomerate that speaks choppy spanish, than he be the inmate they call on when they need someone to translate at the prison library... of course It would be better if the kid could speak spanish and not end up in jail but Im just saying if I only had those 2 choices.
I think the important thing about these people (and all the other people not on the list) is that they represent a choice. Next time u complain about every latino u see on TV being even a gang member or a maid, think about all these people.

Chile, you have got to see the Paul Rodriguez thing in St. Quentin. That was so funny! As for George Lopez, not a big fan, but he has his moments. Leguizamo is in a class of his own, really, really funny. Any other worth-mentioning hispanic comedians?

I am as serious as a heart attack! I think they SUCK!!! George Lopez' show SUCKS a$$ really bad and any stand up I have ever seen him do SUCKS!!!! Paul Rodriguez too....not funny at least not to me....they do the typical "latino in america" humor but it's just not funny to me! Chris rock does the "black people in america thing" and that is REALLY FUNNY to me but these guys...nah!!! Remember though comedy is personal so like what I find funny you may not find funny. I like Richard Prior, Eddie Murphy (back in the days), Sienfeld, Chris Rock, Dave Chapell and many more but NOT these dudes!! The only latino I like for stand up is that Puerto Rican guy that was in Carlitos way...John Leguzamo...something like that.....

Just the other day they had a special on her on "A Current Affair". She has reached worldwide success, she speaks fluent, proper spanish, and she has really mastered the English language. You can hear the "poetry" in her music whether it's English or Spanish. She is still true to her roots (Colombian and Lebanese). She has her "Fundacion Pies Descalzos", which provides kids in third world countries (mostly Latin America), with shoes and schooling as well.
