Hey Genie, if they are doing this , they better make sure it does go down there, cause i remeber when Mitch was happening a few years back they took a lot of donations and as far as i know those containers never left the Canada since no one wanted to pay for the shipments, but thats a rumour that was left at that at that point, so hopefully no mishaps can happen this time with them.. I will send all donations there, and will try to get a link from them to post it here in H-town...

Thanks for the address!! I'm sending some things down to El Salvador, thank God that it's not for my family!! They are all ok.
I just saw some disturbing pics that literally upset me so much, there was a pic of someone carry a child that was buried under mud. As a mother, i would never wish this upon any mother out there.

Thank you non- salvadorean amigos/as for your kind thoughts and actions.  I'll be checking these posting to see how aid can be collected ans sent to EL Salvi.

I heard that El Salvadorean gueverment ( del verbo GUeviar) is going to let the private enterprises collect and distribute foreign aid to the victims. We know where that aid will end up ( in the warehouses of the business people and resold or given to their closest friends.

So I think some one going down there can make a mayor contribution by actually delivering the goods to people in need.

Yeah this ia true.   My mom talked to my aunt in Guatemala and she said that in the Costa Sur of Guatemala is all under water, and that it won't stop raining.  Thank God my familia is ok, but one of my mom's aunts lives near the costa sur, and my family can't go check on her to see if she's ok because all the roads are blocked off in that area, and they can't call her because the phone lines are cut off in the area that she lives in. I pray to God that she's ok.  It breaks my heart to see all of these innocent people suffering like this, and especially because it's happening in my countries.  It's home man.

Count me in! I think is a great idea that we all want to help out, however, medicine would be helpful too. Do you guys know cuantas enfermedades se van a desarrollar after it stops raining. As well as canned food. So what's the deal? When do we want to have all this ready by? Or like afro said, mi tio usually organizes fundraisers, we'll find out what's going on and let u guys know.

Well guys, i was thinkin of doing the same thing as well, if anyone knows the people that send containers, we can get them to maybe donate a container and we can fill them up. I know lots of salva peeps here in Hamilton and i want to start gettin donations here at teh store, like clothing and medicine, and baby staff, but the problem will be shipping it down there, so if we can all raise the money for shipping, we can get enough items to send down there, and its also much better sendin items than money, never trust your money to the salvadorean government...

Hey Genie, when your dad leaving, well ask him, i can start taking donations here in the latin community...
I know i got like 4 bags of clothin i was gonna take down to salvation army, but i rather send it there...
BTW Genie, chit down there its bad, trust me, i watched Canal 12 todas las noches and it shows a lot of inundaciones, well thats true not all parts but a lot of people are being affected by this...thousands...
So if anyone knows of anyone doing anything, just let me know pls...

guys its truly sad what is going on but they media is making it seem worse then it is i spoke to my grandmother and she says yes some parts are having harder times then others but its not all of el salvador, she says its mainly the barancos and hilly valleys that are having great affect but for the main part the cities have not been too effected it all has to do with all the latests hurricanes. They have not eveacuated because its not as bad as ppl think.  As for the volcano there is activity going on but they dont think it will erupt anytime soon see, for those that dont know El salvador is surrounded by 7 volcanoes 4 have never been dormant but have never erupted and three still remain dormant. They are also saying in el salvador that untill they get the red alert to evacuate then for now they can remain calm the ones being put on red alert are the ppl around Santa Ana and who live on the volcano. But im in for helping out where ever i can! My father is leaving soon to el salvador and hes traviling by truck so if u guys want to donte clothing let me know so i can have him take it down and donate to the Cruse Roja en El salvi!

When is your father leaving?? I would like to donate my daughters clothing..

Wow!! I can't believe it's that bad. I've been so busy with work and school that i didn't pay much attention to why my mother has been calling long distance!! That's crazy, i have some family in Santa Ana where the volcano erupted. I hope they are ok. Lo unico que puedo hacer desde aqui es rezar y pedirle a Dios que todos esten bien!

Just curious....

What are people doing about this right now.....
I mean, are they at least leaving their country or making their way into another country or area for the time being? OR are the waiting for the desaster to actually happen......

Because I would evacuate right away......even with the slight chance of the eruption happening.....I would pack my bags and start walking or something......

 Yes Girl, you are rigth.

Como siempre We'll have to pray and send aid cause I don't think the gueverment is ready to help so many people, they invest emergency funds building those big modern homes for their people and then are short of funds for emergencies.

Girl, you are such a nice baby.
