I would never put my parents in a nursing home. I would take of them like they took care of me.And even now that i'm a single mom, they help me out so much with caring for my son. So there's no way i would think of even doing that to them. I owe them so much. My brother worked in a nuring home as a support worker for about a year and he would always come home upset because those nurses can be so mean to the elderly people. I also did some volunteer work at Villa Colombo beside Dante high school and i've seen those nurses hit and scream at elderly people.
People, don't think twice before you decide to send your parents to a nursing home!!
Would anyone ever put their parents in a nursing home? Do you feel like you owe your parents enough to have them live with you in their old age?
I would never put my parents or any other relative in a nursing home,... it s just sad for them,. when they r old ,. they go back in time,. their are like kids,.. they need their family attention,.. I know some ppl may think ,. "I work ,. I don't have time",. but there is support workers,. who help them everyday,... if u don't have time,..
Also,. they r some ppl,. who maltreat elders,.. I 've seen those cases as well,. and I think that if u don't have the patience a nursing home will be the best option,.. but u have to research on the nursing home u r sending ur parents or any other relative,..
Let me see if I can apply my "traditional ways" to this one.....LOL
So long as I can take care of them and they can physically take care of themselves....I will NOT put them in a nursing home......I would only do it as a last resort I think......then again, I would not be living with them....so I would let each parent decide......I really don't have naything aginst nursing homes......for some people it's the best option......
