I think it all depends on situations at home... But my family looks at it like this- You can move out if you have to go to school somwhere else, or if your married.. other wise it's innapropriate.. For the girls.. for the guys it different.
How old is too old to be living at home? Listening to talk radio at work and this is what they are talking about? When should you be out of your parents house? When should you pay your parents rent? I moved out of my parents house at 25.
Well I really have a problem cause the house is mine and my brother's and my parents don't wanna leave jajaja. I was 27 when We started paying mortgage jajaja, everybody think my parents pay for everything, that sucks.
It's different for everyone I guess. I know a lot of people that actually co-own homes with their parents and they all live together there (very common in south asian culture) The kids can even be married and have children of their own and they all share a house. So I guess if you are paying bills then its ok to stay home. I know some parents out there wouldn't be able to afford a mortgage if it weren't for this kind of arrangement.
I have been living on my own since i was 22yrs old! But i moved out cuz i got married and my moms apt was too small to add one more person so my exhubby and i got an apt but 3mths later i was on my own and have been since then.
But this arrangement that u listed above cali is what my mother and my self are considering but havent made the move yet!!

Yeah I have a couple of friends also that have done that..... but my friends are latinos..

I dont really think that there is a set age to move out of the house. It really all depends on the living arrangments and the situation at home. I wouldnt move out of my house for anything... I love it there. My whole family is really chill, so there really is never any conflict. The way I see it is this... I have my whole life ahead of me to be away from my family, so why not spend the most amount of time that I can with them now? That and the fact that Im a lazy ass, are the two main contributing factors...
I AGRE WITH U CHALE, NOT THE LAZY ASS THING LoL BUT IT ALL DEPENDS IN THE SITUATION, I ALSO LIVE @ HOME I SHARE ALL THE EXPENSES WITH MY MOTHER , WE GET ALONG REALLY GOOD ALSO, I HAVE NO PROBLENS WHAT SO EVER, 4 NOW THIS IS GOOD 4 MY SITUATION...
I moved out at 18... actually, more like "they" moved me out, but I have no regrets whatsoever. I learned so much about myself that I wouldn't have it any other way. As for other people, I don't know if a 30-year-old should still be living at home with mommy and daddy, that's just sad. Although in case of latin girls, it's just the way it is, I guess. Parents are still old fashioned. But there's a lot to learn about yourself, and I've always recommended it, at least for a time, anyway. If not, they should definitely be paying rent or contributing somehow. As a parent, you don't do your child any favours by allowing them to be that irresponsible.

Yeah I agree that if you have the means you should go or at least pay rent and help your parents out. You have to learn how to be independent and waiting until you are 30 to do that is not a good idea.

Well I don't think that there should be an age to move out, as long as you paid rent, or make other arrangements to help your parents, I still leave with my mom, but we have arrangements.
and to reply to the thread question, I think too old is when you have the means to live on your own. I don't think of it 'agewise', but if you're working, getting some cash, have a partner....MOVE THE FUCK OUT!!!!
I hope to GOD they are paying rent or half the mortgage!! I think as long as you contribute then it's not so bad but you gotta wonder about a 45 yr old dude that is not independant @Chale do you pay rent?
as I said before...they're still concidered the "babies" of the family, so i doubt ir... that's what I call "living la vida loca"...

I STILL LIVE AT HOME. SEE...WHERE I'M FROM WE DON'T MOVE OUT UNTIL WE GET MARRIED.
I WAS BROUGHT UP TO THINK THAT WAY...BUT I ALWAYS WANTED TO MOVE OUT ON MY OWN...I DON'T THINK THERE IS AN AGE TO GO BY...HOW I SEE IT, WHENEVER THE INDIVIDUAL IS READY TO LEAVE...JUST LEAVE...!!!

for a woman i think its more acceptable to still live at home and be thirty but for a man i would have to say they need to move out my 25 thats what i think...
