This is in relation to another thread that someone started. I've watched a few good Latino-themed movies, but I'm wondering if anybody has any more that can be recommended (trying to promote Homey talent here...) These are some of the good ones I've watched. Real Women Have curves - really good movie. I think it's set in East L.A. What's Cooking: Although the mom in the movie is Mercedes Ruehl, she's supposed to be Latina, and a lot of the cast is. Really good movie. Motorcycle Diaries - need I say more? Selena -- Of course. Chasing Papi - not so good, but funny nevertheless. Salsa! - I loved this movie!!! Mi Familia - I really liked this movie (I should watch it again). I'll think of some more...

Good choices. Seen all of them.

I really liked the Real women have curves,.. it shows the reality in most latin families,..Chasing papi,. hmm,. difernete,. pero graciosa,..there is good movies out there that show more the traditons and culture of the latin family,.. I remember Como agua para chocolate,.. good movie,.. very romantic,..

But what Joker pointed out is true,.. drug dealers ,. gangs,. cleaning ppl,.. all that is part of the Hispanic Comunity,.(NOT ONLY IN USA) claro no comparto cuando generalizan,.. y cuando en los guiones de las peliculas lo hacen,. para mi eso es degradacion,..

Mi Familia was a really great movie.
Edward James Olmos is an amazing actor.
I really like his movies. Hes a good example for aspiring Latino actors.
