Just buy your ticket – and if you really don’t want to go, I will volunteer to take that trip for you! LOL… just make sure it’s a 5 star hotel, not a cheappo motel!

A West Caribbean Airways jet crashed Tuesday in a remote area of western Venezuela, likely killing all aboard. There are conflicting reports about the number of passengers and crew.

France's civil aviation authority said there were 153 passengers on board were French citizens of Martinique, and that all died.

The Colombian airline said in a news release that there were 152 passengers aboard the McDonnell Douglas MD-82 when it crashed. It also listed eight crew members.

The plane had been headed from Panama to the Caribbean island of Martinique when it went down in a mountainous area near Venezuela's border with Colombia.

The pilot reported trouble with both engines to the Caracas airport just after 3 a.m. local time, said Francisco Paz, president of the National Aviation Institute.

About 10 minutes later, airport authorities lost radio contact with the plane in the area of Machiques, more than 640 kilometres from Caracas, in the western border state of Zulia.

Shortly after losing radio contact, residents in the area reported hearing an explosion, Paz said.

Officials in Martinique said the vacationers who chartered the flight to Panama included civil servants and their families. There were also several couples.

The plane crash comes just two days after a Cypriot airliner hit a hill north of Athens, Greece, killing all 121 on board.

West Caribbean Airways is based in the Colombian city of Medellin. It has been in service since 1998.

Since spring, it had operated a charter since spring between Panama and the French Caribbean territories of Martinique and Guadeloupe, said French Transport Minister Dominique Perben.

In March, eight people died when a twin-engine plane operated by the airline crashed during takeoff from the Colombian island of Old Providence.

What's up with planes these days, man?? OUCH
