Im sorry but if my friends are coming with me..and im driving or they are driving we always help each other out with money regarding gas or parking money..if u friends don't help one another out like that then dont hang out with them..simple as that..No one likes to get used like that.

@ Miss Lee......I've always been one to think that "asking" for gas money is rude....BUT I always offer and mean it when I do, because I understand how expensive it must be for the driver who's doing me a huge favour......
......passengers take that for granted......even $5 goes a long way......maybe not all the time, but passengers being driven by someone on a regular basis should offer and pay at least $15 per week ......
As for your friends.....bring up the topic in conversation as something that happened to you the other day.....OR.....once in a while say: "Sorry guys, I can't drive today, gas prices are way to high"....and see what they say.....if they offer insistingly...TAKE IT.....if they're like "oh, yeah, you're right"........GET NEW FRIENDS......ones who will respect you.

you know i never ask my friends for gas money and im always the one driving but with these prices i think i should start asking, damn sometimes i waste my whole tank in picking them up and driving them home.....and yet they never offer to pitch in for gas....what should i do? should i bring the topic up or just avoid going out all together in fear that these prices will burn a deeper whole in my pocket? any advice...

I don't worry about gas prices. It's more environmentally friendly. I spend $100 a month on a metropass. I WALK, which is a good exercise. I get to read or listen to music while I'm commuting. Road rage does not exist in my vocabulary. I don't have to give rides to anybody. I don't deal with insurance companies.
