I think it's great and it's about time! Israelis should leave ASAP and leave the Palestinians alone in THEIR OWN COUNTRY!!! The country is called Palestine.....Israelis have their own country, they should get to it then...no? ........as for renovations of the broken down homes...etc.....it can and will be done even if it takes forever...... One can never fully understand or judge unless you are in that position living what those people are living daily.
Religion, Respect and Patriotism are HUGE issues in the middle east. We're talking life and death with no hesitation.

The Israili Government has given Jewish settlers in the territory of Gaza until Wednesday to evacuate the region in order for Palestinian settlers to move in and begin the creation of a Palestinian state. This is a move that many think will end a conflict that has been going on since the 60s. Many of the settlers believe they are entittled to the land as their birth right, problem is so do the palestinians. Do you think it will make a difference? Do you feel the Israili Government is making the right move? discuss.
Unfortunately, no matter what either governement does or does not do... there will not be a happy outcome... there is no happy medium. Evacuating the settlers does not guarantee peace on either side, thereby not rectifying the situation for either.
In my opinion this will just create more problems. No matter what either government does, there will be problems from both sides. None will back down.
I dont know what the correct solution to this situation would be, but all I know, is that everything that they have tried to do or not do has failed.... it just seems like it wont work.
It would be ideal if this would eliminate all tension and violence and acts of terrorism etc... but it wont.

Dude I have no idea about this....but I hate you anyways
I believe that in order to understand the current situation in Palestine/Israel one MUST familiarize themself with the history in the region. It is imperitive to understanding the compexities of the region and allows one to make an informed opinion anongst a sea of propaganda (on all sides). In particular to the Gaza evacuations these are my thoughts: 1. It is not the end to the conflict, it is a small step of returning to the 67 boarders which have long been put forward and demanded by Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority officially. 2. Is the Israeli government making the right move? The occupation of Palestine must end, it is just that, an occupation, the Palestinian people like all other peoples HAVE the right to self-determination. HOWEVER, there are more pressing issues, Israel leaves Gaza but destroys all homes on their way out leaving Palestinians to clean up the mess, issues regarding providing a viable situation in which a future palestinian state can actually flousrish, access to hospitals, schools, water, agrible land ect... THEN there is the issue of the WALL, Israel proceeds to build a wall the DIVIDES the people rather than unites. That infringes on the Palestinians right to movement, access to schools, jobs, ect. A wall that has been deemed ILLEGAL by the UN and International Courts. How can after our experience with SA appartheid, the Berlin wall and so many other tragic periods of human history allow Israel to continue with this project. 3. I would like to state that I am against ALL types of acts that seek to infringe on the HUMAN RIGHTS of ALL peoples. This includes the reckless acts of suicide bombers (who DO NOT represent the Palestinian population) the murder of Palestinian children at the hands of the Israeli army and All acts of terrorism. I look forward and actively fight for the day when both Israeli's and Palestinians can enjoy the freedoms they deserve. The above was simply MY oipinion :)
Thanks a lot for this. I must tell you, I'm not very familiar with what's going on on that side of the globe, but your post was very informative...
