It's basically a documentary which follows the life of penguins for a year. They show how they mate, how they take care of their egg, how they interact as a couple, what they have to withstand (cold, hunger,thirst) in order to keep the embrio alive, and finally how the newborns adapt to the world.
It is also incredibly well narrated by Morgan Freeman.
