Trying online dating is far from desperate and its becoming really popular and is breaking through the old taboos, which i think is good. 


I have not tried it myself (currently happy with my boy :) but i would certainly not pass jusgement on anyone who does, actually TWO girls from work met their current boyfriends on LAVALIFE, and I assure you there is nothing wrong with them, they are two young, HOT, intelligent women....so there you go

never done it either, but I do know couples that are married now and that's how they met.  I guess it does work for some people, but for me... hmmmmm ..... I rather meet them in person.  I've heard so many times that looks are not that important, y que uno se tiene que fijar como es la persona por dentro, como piensan, sus sentimientos, etc....   But come on... we all know physical appearance is very important too y es lo primero que nuestros ojitos miran... (not saying all of the above is less important, it is equally or more important than looks).  meeting people online is a grate idea, it's what we're doing here in this foro, but dating someone online who you've never met before would be a bit weird for me and also scary now a days....

I agree with Afrodita....no matter where you meet someone (online, in the mall...)
you never know what your getting yourself into. At least online you have the choice to end
it before it begins, and in person it could be a little more akward..lol

But I guess to each their own, some are happy with it and others just don't do it..

I've done it before...it's alright. Sure beats the meatmarkets. I've had very positive experiences. I think I've only met one whackjob but fortunately I never met up with her. I have two other friends who have met their significant other through Lavalife.

A friend of mine met her boyfriend, now Fiance, through LAVALIFE. I'm not really sure how it works but it seemed to work fine for her.
All I know is that you have to be careful cuz you never know what kind of person you are going to get involved with.
But you always take those chances anyways no matter where you meet people.
