What would you do if someone beat you up real bad, and threatened to kill you if you said anything to anyone.  They also said that they didn't care if they went to jail, because they had nothing to lose.  What would you do?  Where would you go for help if you were to scared to go to the cops?  Who would you turn to for help?

I m asking this, because there is someone in my life that is in this situation, but is too scared to go to the cops.  I advised this person to go to the cops but they are to scared, and refuses to do so.  I also advised this person to move from where they live.  I don't know what to say or do to help this person out.  I would really appreciate any advise that you could give me.
