I think he/she has somewhat of a valid point... its true that about 90% of all reggaeton is pure crap. Some dude yellin "perreo" or "tra" or some crap like that all over the same monotonous beat.. u know the one, all songs have it. Most of them dont even have a good voice. Having said that there are some good artist out there as far as lyrics (oh yeah most of the lyrics suck too)and vocal flow goes. Also more and more artist are actually colaborating with hip hop producers and mixing it up with other styles which accounts for more interesting beats and better music. My hope is as time goes by, Reggaeton will mature into a more sophisticated music gendre with greater range and depth. When Hip Hop first started the beats and lyrics where also quite limited and repetitive and now, almost 30 years later, it has grown into a one of the most versatile musical styles there is.

Aww don;t say that. I love reggaton, not because it;s in the trend, but because it's makes me wanna move and dance. I am glad there is more and more coming out. (not all reggaton is good, I agree, but for the most part it;s fine)

And you can't really say that ppl listen to it because they want to be accepted by society. Not everyone.

Hey reaggeton has not been around for long time, SALSA AND ROCK music has been around for long time- BUT reaggeton is a new trent music-mix of sounds from jamaica and latin sounds (now i am not an expert) by i read an article on Magia-Radio about it and also a couple of local guys doing interviews for the newspaper Orgullo Hispano.

I will admit it and agree with Xavier that reaggeton is a good music to party,i love the beat but i think if it get overxposure i will die very soon. specially is the good songs never make it big an all we hear are the not so good songs like gasolina.

First of all, if there is no talent y don't u put out a reggaeton song and lets see how many english clubs play it

The only one with the inferiority complexities here is U, many of us have been following reggaeton for a very long time, not just because they started to play it on Z but because is gr8 music to get down to and party.
To tell u the truth, that Gasolina song is not even that good in my opinion and is just over played if u ask me...there is sooooooooooo many better songs out there that should get better exposure, I do like the fact that it has open doors for others to step up and represent the latin community in the english scene.
Reggaeton has been around for a very long time and is here to stay so get over it and live with it.
