my dad was so spoiled growing up, every one of his brothers and sisters had their own personal maid, he didn't learn how to do anything till he was 30, even had all his clothes laid out for him every day.. he's an awesome cook though now and he knows how to take care of himself

we had maids growing up too... but everyone needs to know how to take care of themselves it's an important life skill

It means that what your reading.

My family & it's mentality is obviously diffrent from others. My parents believe that thier kids should live with them untill they get married & go do their own life. Many Europeans & Spanish families are like this. What so wrong with it......I don't seem to understand the problem??

I think people mis understand my posting or I come across rude, but to me it has absolutly nothing, nothing to do with me being loaded, it's just how we are as a family.

People make me laugh.

@ Genie: High Five to you - just because! ... Seems we were raised similarly.

@ Phanthasma: Agree on the cooking being fun, and like yourself, I am not very dish-cleaning-friendly!  I'd rather cook for 2 hours than wash dishes for 10 minutes EVEN if there is a washer!

I think cooking is one of those things that unless you cook you dont understand how much fun it is. I've noticed people who dont cook never seem to understand why some people love it and people who cook cant imagine how anyone wouldnt love it...

I love to cook, Its a great creative outlet and at the end of it u get to eat your creation!!! (and I cook WELL too!) I hate the clean up after though so Confundida's deal sounds good to me!

I guess I understand your point of people in Ecaudor, but I've never had that problem. @ Genie.......Spoiled Brats??? Hahaha......WHY??? Well all I can say is that life is easy for me & very comfortable so my ways of seeing life & expectations can be a lot diffrent then many here. My parents take care of me (which they should & will untill I get married) & I've never been expected to learn or do any chores in my life, so I won't be doing any unless I have to, then I'll consider me learning."

I think this pretty much explains it all... it just all depends how you were brought up - if you could afford and able to have a life with maids and caretakers more power to you - enjoy that life.  However, I think all kids should be taught the basic life skills that are cooking, cleaning, and ironing... not that you have to actually do it if you can afford to have it done for you, just having the skill and ability to do it is good to have in case it does become a necesity later on in life.

I think it would be a great skill to have for a woman (or man, for that matter) to be able to fend and take care of oneself - cooking, cleaning, ironing, the whole bit - Even if one is loaded with zillions of dollars, it's just good skills to have - one never knows how long that ca$h is going to last or what the future could bring.  (I.E.: A Princessa falling terribly in love with a Pauper who has "ni donde caerse muerto", or way to afford maids, cooks and cleaners)   I like a saying that my dad used to tell me and it went something like this: "Mijo - para poder mandar y esperar que las cosas te hagan bien hechas, primero tienes TU que aprenderlas y hacerlas.  Solo asi sabras que es lo que tu puedes esperar de otra persona, en cuanto tiempo se puede hacer y cuanto te va a costar" "

Yep I agree LG everytime we go to el salvador my dad has three maids (nice eh ones not enough) La que cocina (but my step mom does it to they both cook) la que limpia la casa y hace las camas!! (talk about spoiled) Y la que viene a lavar three times a week (yep no washer dryer too much water bill to high) lol

But even still when i go i help the maids and there like oh no senorita deje eso!! Im like NO lol i fight just to make my bed porque si me acostumbro estoy jodida i live on my own lol

Confu - nope i dont im sorry i was raised the old fashion way by a single mom!! which meant after school everyday start dinner, clean the house (moms a clean freak) and do dishes!!! so no i dont!!

I am spoiled rotten though pero mi mama siempre me decia mija aves es mejor poner el orguillo a un lado y hacer las cosas uno solo!! Porque si dejas que lo haga el hombre se va buscar OTRA QUE SE LO HAGA!!! SO THATS JUST ME!! But with me its gotta be 50/50 i cook u dishes i clean u do washrooms!! i wash i iron (men leave creases) lmao
