Ok, first, I know I'm entering this a little late but I was Googleing "Tampon Genie" as in a diaper genie for tampons and pads, and this thread came up.

I had to have an opinion so I got a user name and password and logged in to tell you all this...

TSS, or Toxic Shock Syndrome, is not caused by "CHEMICALS" in tampons, because their are no chemicals in tampons they are sterile. It is caused by putting you tampon in incorrectly and leaving it that way for a longer period of time than recommended on the box.

It is very common in girls who use tampons with the applicator because the applicator does not most of the time put the tampon in as accurate as one without the applicator, say OB brand for instance, the kind I use, for that reason.

Only you know the shape of your vagina, its twists and turns so only you would be able to put a tampon in correctly. Not a ****ing hard piece of straight rough cardboard, or the pointy ass plastic.

Ok, all the women in my family, excluding my mother, use OB brand, my sisters, my nieces. and not one of us had ever had TSS.

I have been using green OB brand since I was 13. I was never ably to use pads because and allergy to them, my mother wasn't even able to put disposable diapers on me as a child. And no, I DID NOT lose my virginity to a OB!!

As for sleeping in them, myself and my female family have never come across any problem with changing every 4 hours even in the night because when the OB get at 4 hours even if its not full it gets fluffed up and feels like it is full and this will wake you up. I have absolutely no problem with it!!

And lastly, the reason I was Googling "Tampon Genie" is because tampons are not septic safe and no one wants bloody tampons or pads wrapped in toilet tissue in the garbage can. eww!!

hmmmmm..... I would have to say that it depends on what youre going to do.
Sleeping = Pads (Always has never let me down)
Going out = Tampons (again, Always is pretty good choice)

I heard that its not recommended if you sleep with a tampon b/c you should change them every 3-4 hours or according to how heavy that day is.

Well, I agree with you Genie.

The best thing if you really want to use tampons is to use both maxi pads and tampons. To sleep maxi pads all the way, It's disgusting to think that you are going to have a tampon inside of you for more than 6 hours.

Ok, girls this is what I think,

Girls don't just use pads or just tampons, I guess it all depends on wht you wear and where you are going. I mean if you go to a club you better put a tampon, I mean you are going to be sweating, Pad is a no, no, when doing a physical activity.

If youa re going to stay home and watch movien in the confort of you sofa, then a pad is ok.

Well this is my opinion of course, for me I use both it all depend on my plans for that day. Some pads are very confortable and you do not feel like you are wearing anything, same as tampons, some cause others are to raugh and big. LOL

NO MATTER HOW THIN THEY ARE, PADS ARE JUST NASTY, YOU CAN FEEL THEM THERE (DIPERS ). LIKE YOU SAID TO EACH HER OWN, IT IS TOTALY UP TO THE WOMAN.
