This is definitely not a necessity, to tell you the truth I am scared of getting really sick and going to a hospital recently my mother became very ill and she was treated very poorly, i have to take her in for treatment everyday and everyday its a different nurse, some of these nurses don't like their job so they treat my mom like a piece of sh!t and don't follow correct procedure. The money should be but to better our hospitals and hire competent people to run the hospital, hospitals are the necessity not a sex change. I understand that it may be extremely important to them but there are people dying each day because they don't receive the proper care and are being neglected at our hospitals.

@Genie: Once you're ready to deliver, it's NO LONGER a choice, it's a need... and a hospital and doc are seriously needed. On the other hand, if a man just wants it cut off that bad, he could chop it off himself and show up at the hospital, THEN it's a need that needs to be taken care of

Exactly. We need more government funding in other areas where it is desperately needed, but sadly overlooked. So for the this to even be considered an option for funding is just wrong.

I agree with u Chale_Tanga, gov funding has to be put in something else like homeless, health care, and other programs.
I agreewith you Chale, I think they should put that money towards other important things. Ohip has taken away so many things, and expects us to pay out of our pocket for certain checkups and surgeries, but somehow they will be able to manage to pay for sex change surgery. I think that is wrong. Like you said it's not a necessity.
