I posted the "HD is dead" entry, Ricky, I agree with you totally, you said it best, the guy who followed me, I agree with too, and your list of great voices is good too. I took "la mejor voz latina" as meaning an artist worth bring back and talking about. But buddy (HD) needs to reinvent himself without his parasitic managers that are doing nothing for him in terms of showcasing that talent that we'll agree he has or did have.
He did reinvent, and perhaps create or extend a new style but NOW he has to go with the flow or else OUTDO is past -- I just do see him doing this. Besides thats a heavy load to carry.
As far as the antics in Reggaeton, I agree its not pleasing, but neither is a pack of 50 or so 18 year olds, and this is what appeals to them. The presentation my not be glamorous but the energy and message is fresh and If was an artist I'd jump on that bandwagon especially with a voice like Sr. Dunbarro .
Wow. Some people are jokes..lol. Well like Confessiones and Phantasma said, you should sign up. You seem knowledgeable and you can bring up good points. We always urge the anonymous (the ones who behave) to sign up and bring to the table the many issues we latinos like to talk about. Think about it.
As for the TLN concert, tha artists you metioned were good ones and Alejandro Sanz happens to be my favorite! But I doubt it very much that TLN can afford such artists. Even acts like Daddy Yankee who because of his success, are charging mad dough. Our local talent always gets forced to play for free or just get d!cked around at these events so I doubt they will dish out the coin for a big international act.
Huey Dunbar is a fabulous singer and although he's been out of the scene for a while, we can't forget that himself and DLG changed the way tropical music was performed. They're (actually Sergio George's) style maybe broadened the view on urban music morphing with latin music. Even though people like El General and Vico C were doing it from the start, maybe DLG's bigger success opened up new ideas in other artists and producers. Huey probably is in the past but I think he had something to do with what we hear today in a relevant way.
Mad Luv,
Ricky

Please don't say Don Omar or Daddy Yankee or even Zion and Lennox (who actually try and sing) cause if they sung, it would sound like two old ladys getting raped. Plus reggaeton is mostly rapping which is talk rhyming. Maybe a couple loops of a chorus singing but they all sound out of tune anyway. But that's the style. So if you can sing really good, you can't be a reggaeton artist. I also agree that Huey shouldn't come back to perform at TLN because he's been here too many times. But please don't bring more than one act if it's a reggaeton act. TLN should think that one act is more than enough. It's the same beat all the f**king time anyway. Plus, you never see anything live. It's all like kareoke. It's always one guy with his crew behind him doing nothing. Some even get mics! HA HA HA HA. They should bring real talent like Juanes, MANA, Kalimba, Sin Banderas, Alejandro Sanz, Olga Taņon, Luis Fonsi, Alexandre Pires, Rosario etc. that have real bands backing them up. THAT would be a concert. Not a crew holding mics to scream "PERREO" once or two times too many. If I would pick one reggaeton artist to come, it would be Daddy Yankee thats it because he's got catchy tracks. But 5 songs would be enough y pa'l carajo.
