once you get a data plan, there's no going back!!!!
Specially great if it's paid for by the company you work for!
they pay for your phone bill but automatically you become an slave ....No thank you...You become an slave for how much a month ?? No thank you I rather to have a life than look cool.
That's mostly true.
There are at least two people in my department who have REFUSED blackberrys from work.
I returned my phone to the company I have zero interest to be available 24/7.

I know why people love them, but honestly the idea of people been able to reach me 24/7, 365 days a year feaks me out (waaaaaay to Big Brotherish). I like to dissapear once in a while! and there are just so many times you can pull the whole "there is no roaming excuse".

It depends on everyone's need. Personally, I like a phone that will let me text , make and receive phone calls. No need for blackberries or iphone or any "smartphone".
Cellphones are a consumer electronic therefore they loose their retail value very easy and they become "obsolete" whitin 6 months...when they release a phone they have 3 more to be released with better capabilities and cheaper .....I'm not crazy about cellphones as far they let me call people and txt Im happy with it
Bell and Telus are preparing for a pre-holiday launch of the BlackBerry Storm touchscreen smartphone, but observers say the launch of the so-called IPhone-killer may be too late to help Research In Motion Ltd. salvage an increasingly bleak year.
The Storm was rolled out on Verizon Wireless in late November but there are still no official launch dates from Bell Canada or Telus Corp., although Telus has revealed it will sell the device for $249.99 with a three-year contract.
Something must have happened in development, a supplier didnt perform or a component went bad, said Ken Dulaney, an analyst at Gartner Research.
The Storms delayed launch helped contribute to a less-than-stellar third quarter for Waterloo-based RIM, which warned investors that earnings during the period would come in lower than previously forecast at 81 cents to 83 cents US per share.
RIM is a great company. The economy is affecting them, but smartphone growth in the next 3 years is going to be crazy (within three years most of everyone will have some kind of a smartphone). RIM is poised to sell a lot of units.

I only update when, either, my phone dies, or I lose it (which is quite often ). Otherwise I don't bother. No matter how hard you try, you can't keep up with cell technology.... unless you update every six months or so
