Anyhow, in my house nunca falta el"aji" (home made hot pepers sauce) . And depends on what we eat we have either patacones (green plantain), maduro frito (yellow plantain), avocado, etc. Now we don't eat as much rice, but in most ecuadorian families the rice is always there for lunch or dinner. Don't forget the soup !!!
Arroz for breakfast (calentado), lunch and dinner sometimes... LMAO. Yeah, I hear you - arroz con huevo, arroz con carne, arroz con pollo, arroz con pescaco, arroz con hornado... arroz con lo que venga!
I think Latina4evrgp is GrIndia! you know, media girnga media Ecuatoriana...

Yes I am and I luv our food! Rice is a staple as well but we've turned brown on almost everything...rice etc. We have salad as well all the time. I use to hate having soup everyday but yeah it was a must growing up.
When living with my parents..... Beef. Allllllways friggin beef. Ocassionally pasta, BUT with BEEF. With something else, of course, but the main dish had beef in one form or another. And bread. There's ALWAYS bread at the table

WHen I was little I used to eat rice with butter or butter and cheese ,. it was the best for me.
When I was little... Cuando servian Atun - me gustaba agarrar la lata vaciada del atun, llenarla de arroz, mesclarla con los left-overs y comer... for some reason, parecia hasta mas rico than comer el atun en el plato!
