Like most of you, my mother is my greatest inspiration. If I am half the mother that mine was to me, I know I'll do great.

Amen to this... There's no comparison to what an inspiration God (and religion of any faith) can be. I've a lot of people very close to me whose lives would've been very different if they hadn't found God. I'm not very religious myself, but I believe that people should believe in something that makes them want to be better people, no matter what it is, and if they find whatever they're looking for in God, then I'm just very happy for them.

Kids are the greatest inspiration of them all. I'm sure one day your son will say you're HIS inspiration. I guess you're not as confundida as you say you are. Good for you.

He sounds like a true and great man. I wish there were more men like him around. There's hope for all those men out there... see, among all the bad ones, there are some great ones.

I think that's one of the greatest differences between how parents were and how parents are nowadays. Our parents were a lot more selfless, giving up WHATEVER for the benefit of their kids. We have become so selfish and self-absorbed that I think that's why parents are having so many problems with their kids right now. We're so "into ourselves" that our lives come first and the kids' come second. The results are going to show and are in fact showing in their behaviour.

I think it's really great when those who inspire us are the ones closest to us... there's very few people in the world that actually make you want to be a better person, and when it's those close to us (fathers, mothers, grandmothers, friends) it's even better because they're there when we need them.

Is there anyone who is such an inspiration to you that it has made you change your life? There are three or four people in the world that really inspire me, two are famous people, well, actually three, and one is really, really close to me.
I read a book about Rigoberta Menchu when I was in school, and the book really touched me. Her story is just so inspirational and tragic. But she overcame everything and has gone on to win the Nobel prize. And I was so, but oh, so lucky that I met her once. I even gave her a hug and chatted with her. That was unbelievable. Now I just have to meet Oprah. That would sure be inspirational.

Does anyone inspire you or has inspired you do bigger and better things?
