Algunos de los amigos mas humildes que he tenido son Argentinos, para mi no tienen nada de diferente, si encuentro que hay bastante mas cultura en Argentina que en otros paises Latinoamericanos, eso es indudable, pero Chile no esta muy lejos, ni tampoco Uruguay y Colombia. Los Chilenos tambien tienen fama de creidos aca, en el Caribe, etc., y en realidad si lo son, y mas cada dia, es que tenemos porque serlo, nuestro pais goza de constante crecimiento economico, cultural, etc., yo creo que simplemente nos sentimos orgullosos, y eso que tiene de malo?

I don't think we are THAAAAT different (other than maybe a bit more diverse background) as people, as most make it sound. I'm not one of those who think that Argies are better than others, for being some superior culture or something, as you make it sound, obviously. I do think we tend to be a bit more curious though. We thrive, mostly, on sports and the arts. So I guess eventually someone that excels at it, is bound to pop up. And we make sure you know about it ()
Most common case would be soccer. In Latin America, it seems to be the standard measure for all of our countries' modern accomplishments or failures
I remember when Ecua made it to the world cup you were flaunting it -to people who's teams didn't make it- as if you had just won la copa intergalactica de los planetas habidos y por haber de futbol. I mean, good for you guys. I hope you make it to every world cup, but don't pretend to be different than us. You're not.
So by merit or sheer luck, we've had a couple of accomplishments (Maybe minor, globally. Maybe a bit more significant in the context of Latin America) that we are proud of. We are proud people, and admittedly, sometimes brag about them. I don't see much wrong with that.

Bueno.. la verdad es que el tema de los argentinos y su fama, no molesta pero... se pone pesado.. recuerdo hace unas semanas atrás estar hablando del mismo tema en Chile, y al fin puede hacer público en otro país las razones por las cuales "los argentinos" tenemos esa fama, que mas que fama fue una actitud, una forma de ser que tuvimos que tomar (porque no nos quedó otra)a causa de nuestros políticos a lo largo de la historia argentina.... mas que ejercer el ego, tuvimos que fortalecernos
de todos modos.....no somos los unicos que nos "creemos" : "O mais grande do mundo" ajajaja

ya i know man european soccer smokes latin americas.....regardless man i will forever support south american futbol cause thats what i am and thats what i grew up with....mexcian ecuadorian chilean soccer etc etc can only get better in time.....I find mexican soccer to be pretty interesting actually ...remember my fellow ecuadorian alex aguinaga made history for el necaxa:)
To be honest i dont really like the european style of playing ...except for spain and portugal who seem to have more of a south american touch in their futbol.......lets not forget that the success of euro soccer also comes from having LATIN AMERICAN players in their teams!!

a esta altura ya es histórico... el "stereotipo" de un argentino no puede dejar de ser creído, altanero, etc. pero en verdad lo somos o tenemos motivos para serlo por lo menos en latinoamerica?
a mi entender es un poco de las dos cosas. hay que admitir que algo nos la creemos, pero me parece que pasa en todos los países, la diferencia es que podemos ser un poco más efusivos para decir lo que creemos. o sea tenemos "la argentinidad al palo"®. ahora tmb tenemos motivos, el futbolista mas grande es argentino (y la verdad no me vengan con pele que pudo haber ganado mucho pero siempre tuvo un equipazo alrededor). el automovilista más grande, mientras el automovilismo no era espionaje y tecnología, es argentino. por lo menos en latinoamerica no hay discusión que el tenista mas grande es argentina (dejando de lado drogones, jajaja). ahh ya que estamos en el momento no tenemos competencia en rugby. y por las dudas no solo en hombres, tmb la tenista más grande de latinoamerica es argentina, en Hockey femenino no hay competencia en nuestro continente. siendo de river tengo que poner como ejemplo al club archirival de mi país como el más ganador internacionalmente (aunque están los que piensan que para ser el mejor del colegio primero hay que ser el mejor de la clase, pero bueno la verdad yo no lo pongo en discusión). eso en lo deportivo y seguro me olvido mas cosas como monzon, el polo, etc. después tenemos logros más importantes como 5 premios nobel. favaloro y su gran aporte a la cardiología mundial. la huella digital, la birome, etc, etc. pero a pesar de todo esto el gran ego del argentino me parece que es por algo histórico. fuimos uno de los países más ricos del mundo, ni hablar de latinoamerica. no creo que sea el motivo que nos haga los mas grandes, pero si el que durante mucho tiempo nos hizo creer eso.
