I tip the shampoo girl. I don't tip my colorist because he owns the place and you aren't supposed to tip them if they are owners.
I never heard that rule...but I don't like that rule. When I worked at a restaurant, I often had to work with the owner of the restaurant - now if he didn't get tipped, my tip/cut would be far less at the end of the night because we "pooled" and shared the tips.
I DO tip my barber... to be honest I am not even quite sure how much it is but I think when I only get a haircut =$12 I leave $15 total... and if I get a facial hair trim along with the haircut it's like $15 total I'll leave a $20.
Ummm a restaurant is totally different I am talking about Salons. It's considered TACKY to tip the owner....you only tip the employees and hairdressers don't share tips.
I never knew that... I used to go to this female hairstylist for haircuts for a while... She was the owner and I did tip her every time. I should go ask for a refund.
