@ LG - WAT Quitos is 10 worst then Guayaquil - Trust me, even the own Quitenos will tell u that.
I've never been to Quito - so, I have no personal experience... But traditionally Guayaquil has always been known as the bad spot of Ecuador, while Quito and Cuenca USED to be safer... but nowadays, I think it's very corrupted EVERYWHERE.

Someone once told me: Bring TWICE the money and HALF the clothes you think you need. You're likely to buy stuff down there.
I personally would not wear anything flashy: expensive watch, gold jewellery, even Nike shoes - pot ahi los chorros te asaltan y te dan una paliza en agradecimiento. I know Quito is not as bad as Guayaquil, but I don't think it's safe either.
yeah i was thinking about that so I'm taking my oasis insted

@PD I'm going for a month and i already have the Ziplock bags on my list.
@God I did the photocopies yesterday.
@Dogo i don't need lujo all i need is paper and I'm taking 2 back packs one as my carry on with wheels and another one for when i go to the jungle it has a water prof thing and is a lot smaller.
If you are bringing any electronics, don't forget to bring one of those travel transformer thingies ( unless the current and plugs are the same in Ecua.I dunno) I'd say make one of your bags or carry-on, a back pack so that when you travel around ecua you can use it (trust me. Very handy) Don't forget medications, if you take any... Or, some meds that you know work for you (stomach pain, headache, etc) and... You traveling alone??? No Pri??? Bring some condoms! j/k!!

Something else some people do is: MARCA TU MALETA with something that stands out (i.e: a Coloured string on the handle, a Canadian Flag name tag, etc... that way when you reach your final destination, you don't have to look too hard... after all, muchas maletas son muy parecidas!

thnx for the help,
~X
what do u mean you need tips on what to put in your luggage? why you never travelled before?
100ml or less and in plastic zip bag. Put everything in your luggage so check time is zero
yes i've travel before but i just want input from people, u know sometimes u forget that one thing, i hope that this way i would remember and wont forget.....I'm making a list so i can check off before i close my luggage.
IF you bringing alchohol (as gifts perhaps) wrap 'em very good en medio de otra ropa y ponlo en el middle de la maleta - You wouldn't want it to crack. Baggage handlers tiran todo como si fueran sacos de papas lo que se lleva ahi!

I DONT CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY, IM A PROUD MEMBER OF THE S.L.U.T CAMPAIGN
los indispensables: toothbrush, toothpaste, comb/hairbrush, hair products, shaving products (though, most of that you can just buy in Quito; but sometimes they don't have the same stuff they have here).
Other than that clothes, ropa playera, zapatillas si vas a la playa, sunscreen...
main thing: bring money - you can pretty much get everything you need down there.
