The Mayor has called to ban guns in schools however the problem persists in the city. In other schools across Canada they placing a cop to patrol the halls of the schools.
Some kids are saying they resent cops and won't change anything, others feel safe.
Maybe that is what Ontario needs to start doing! What do you think of this as a solution?

I disagree. I think this is a parents/community problem. We can't expect outside forces to come solve the problems in this communities. It is up to the citizens to take responsibility for what goes on in their neighbourhoods. This is the wrong approach, IMHO. The cops won't care as much as the people who live there or who have kids in those schools should care. It's just another job for them. And they solve problems through the use of force, which is worse.
I agree this is a parents/ community issue but the cops can be a pilot project until this is a bit under control. At least if there is a cop around maybe it will reduce the stabbing and shooting attempts?

Schools can only do so much and I think parenting goes back to the home.
"Parenting" should be left upto the parents and It's the parent's job to follow up as to what kids are up to.
Based on my own parents, most parents don't even call the school to find out how their kid is doing and wait Until teacher parent night to go in and find out the truth!
