That's the cool part!!, there's nothing granted in futbol, specially in SA..just look at the Standings...with the exception of Peru, all the teams are alive. Honestly nothing surprise me about the Qualyfiers, Bolivia trashed Argentina (It could have been easily 10) and that doesn't take away from them, the title of the worst South American team.
In Europe there are few surprises, just look at the groups and most of them seem very clear. If you play against Lienchtenstein, Feroe Island, Malta or Luxemburgo, San Marino, (still waiting to see the Vatican team in action), you know is pure carpentry.
Capello's England, Spain, Germany and Netherland are playing great! Portugal?? doesn't surprise me at all (and look at their group probably one of the weakest, and they are tied in fifth with Albania lolol), Ronaldo in the national team es un cero a la izquierda, he will never have the impact and leadership that Figo had.

These world cup qualifiers keep getting more out of line by the second Just ridiculous. What upsets me more is that no matter how crappy the good teams play, they are still guaranteed a seat for SA 2010. Chile well deserved, you should be in second place.
Ecuador the light keeps getting dark for us. I am now hoping we come 5th and play trinidad , honduras is playing well beating mexico 3-1.
Anyone looking at the european qualifiers? Portugal is on the verge of not making it.
Looks like C ronaldo wont be making noise this time. Sorry ladies!
HAHAHAHAAAAHAHAHAAAAAA BOLIVIA 6 ARGENTINA 1?!!!!!!!!! WTF HAS THIS WORLD COME TO?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHHAAAAA I THOUGHT I HAD SEEN EVERYTHING?!!!!!!

masterpiero, the chances of colombia making it to 2010 is the equivelant to greece pulling of another euro 2004 championship.... it aint happening again
Ecuador as a team plays better, has better players , and plays for a win, unlike colombia who just seems to barely try and playing with a magcial 12th player called "luck"
if you seen the brazil ecuador match , the score should have been 3-1 at least , julio cesar was playing for the whole brazilian team most of the time...
Ecuador deserves to be in 2010 , they have potential and as a team they are pretty solid now.
My hat goes off to Chile, they deserve to qualify....the 5th place well be between Uruguay and Ecua
hopefully chile ties to uruguay today , playing in chile wont help much for a chilean loss
brazil will keep sinking peru more then it already is
Argentina will beat a weak bolivia
im nervous! but excited!
I agree with most of your comments, I hope Chile beat Uruguay and the battle for the 5th spot will be on fire. Uruguay still has the advantage they have world class players: Diogo, Lugano, Egurren and of course Forlan among others. None of them have made merits to qualify. You are right colombia is not what it use to (although the process they are going to will show results in a couple of years), and I watched the match against Brasil, and Ecua has the Dream Teamif they were playing "tapita" o "Bola e trapo", they seem like they were playing defense for the opposite team. But anything can happen, just make sure to buy a lot of veladoras..I already order a few dozens

After the dissapointing game last night (thanks to the Chilean referee) and a likely victory from Chile tonight, will put those 4 with a feet in SouthAfrica well deserved...
@ Conmebol: I like your spirit but you are gonna have to hold your breath for 4 years...j
QX: I don't agree with you on the 5th spot, first, Ecuador didn't slip, they start with 0 points 0 goals for like 10 games in a row. Uruguay is very solid in that spot, de ahi hacia abajo they should play to be relegated in the CONCACAF. I have to support my team until the end, but I'm starting to think seriously in Brazil 2014, but let'see if EL Sagrado Corazon nos hace el milagro.

I'm thinking the current top 4 (Paraguay, Chile, Brazil and Argentina) will end up as the final top 4. Argentina will likely emerge at the top.
The 5th place is going to be a tough fight until the very last day of qualifying. At this point I'm very surprised Ecuador is falling behind Uruguay and Colombia but I am thinking they will end up with the 5th spot.
As an ecuadorian , i can only hold my breath and have high hopes that we win our last 3 games at home, at this point we cant afford to tie anymore and at least accumulate 29 points to not worry about playing the 5th wheel from the concacaff This means that we need to do well in our away games also ...
For starters , i predict victories in all 3 home games from here on , the toughest one will be tomorrow when we play paraguay , paraguay does well in their away games making them third best to do well in 2010 qualifiers outside their home...
then we play the argies 4th best team to do well in the qualifiers away from home, although we tied them in the summer ,i believe we can beat them .
then comes uruguay 5th best team to do well in the qualifiers away from home, same scenario as argentina , we tied them also the last time away from home..we should be able to beat them
Now come the away games
Beating Peru shouldnt be a problem as they got trashed 3-1 at home against chile im prediciting a 2-0
Then we play Colombia in their home , probably the second hardest away team to face , they havent proved to be much better then ecuador . We play better as a team. 1-0 is my prediction
Playing Bolivia in La Paz is no biggie , the altitude their doest not do anything for us. They don't play well so this is probably the easiest away match for us 2-0
finally it comes down to playing the hardest team AWAY! on top of it! I'm hoping that by then our confidience level in beating our teams away from ecua will help us out on this and give chile a final surprise ...2-1 i predict we beat chile
THERES STILL HOPE! vamos tri

The WCQ are getting better and better, I agree with Dunga when he said that the Qualifyers are tougher than the World Cup itself. Did you guys watch the games?
I think the 4th and 5th place won't be clear until the last game...as a Colombian worries me the way Chile is playing and winning away and Uruguay getting big wins (Ecuador played good, but showed why they shouldn't go to the WC(no le meten goles ni al arcoiris), Colombia, just an average win, no words for Peru and Bolivia
The Argentina-Venezuela was a great game.. Messi showed that he is the different one ..the 10, did you guys see those 2 runs that didn't end up being goal?? He get rid of players like playing Nintendo!

I watched most of the games. I thought the Argentina game was AMAZING!!!! I mean there is no reason on this earth that they should have lost against Venezuela anyway but they played well. Messi was great!!! Just a pleasure to watch!!!!
Chile...well I thought they played great as well!! It had been 25 yrs since we beat Peru in a WCQ match in Peru so it was a great win. We need the points. I liked how Sanchez played and I think the team is pretty strong right now. If we beat Uruguay it will take all my worries away. I have confidence that Chile will pull off a win!!! Hopefully Uruguay will keep their dirty kicks to a minimum
@Mastro....what in the world makes you think Brazil will beat Peru by that much?
There's plenty of reasons... Brazil played really bad against Ecuador, and normally when they have a bad game away, they trash the next small team at home... Kaka might come back this game, there's always plenty of goals when they play in POrto Alegre and also I have the feeling that Dani Alves and Pato might shine tonight and on top of that even the most hardcore Peruvian fans acknowledge that they have to start thinking on Brasil 2014.
Chile has definitely the best momentum right now (A. Sanchez is playing really good) , and most likely the will win, but I just hope for a tie so none of them take significant distance, and that Paraguay finish Ecuador so we don't have to look what's behind.
Is going to be interesting to see how Argentina reacts to La Paz, it will be difficult for them to replicate last game (Bolivians are known for putting hellium on the balls to make them faster and lighter and therefore wear down the rivals, so I don't think Messi or TEvez will shine tonight), I hope Maradona give a chance to Ezequiel Lavezzi, he has great skills and is fun to watch(like Messi+Tevez in one).
@ Chill:What are your predictions?

Mastro come on man, i'm so disappointed in Colombian ppl, i must have heard at least three other ppl say the same thing en el partido contra Chile, osea cuando la seleccion anda mal culpan a los negros? How about Giovanni Hernandez, ke es blanco y no hizo absolutamente nada! Thats just cheap man en ke siglo viven alla en Colombia?
I know, that's y I'm not so worried about it but the lost of Medez is going to hurt us, he is also out because of too many yellow cards and he will be very difficult to replace
cevallitos should forget about retiring ...until 2010 ..looks like the whole squad is up for the next game....va ser un partidaso ..and its on a sunday even better!!!.....and for the final final game to qualify it comes down to ecua vs chile in chile....dammmmmmmmmm dammmmmmm dammmmmmmm it just had to come down to playing them at the end!!! DALE TRI!!!

Mastropiero wrote:The gaps are closed and now it's like starting over... (Even Peru is not that far) Good for Ecuass...estan en la pelea de nuevo On the other hand Colombia un desastre... the only thing that keep me upbeat is that our next rival was playing even worst....honestly Chile looked more like a equipo de barrio, I hope they put the same defensive line next wednesday
Argentina 3 games tied at home?? with so much talent ... La momia Basile is taking Argentina from the top team in the world to the same mediocre team they were went he was the coach in the 90's...I hope they cut his head off soon!

WTF!? Argentina tying contra PERU...
WTF... Brasil and Bolivia are supposed to be powerhouses while Bolivia and Peru were the poor little underdogs... Good for them, good for us... It just gets much more interesting now...
The dream is still alive for Ecuador

we have to beat chile que mas toca?hopefully bolanos urrutia can play in the next game ...i didnt see yesterdays game i just heard it on the radio ...looked like ecua was defending well......i cant even believe the results of the other games brazil bolivia 0-0????????wtf argentina peru 0-0 as well....i expected colombia to do a lil better then chile......but all in all estas eliminatorias are giving us one heck of a surprise

bolanios and urrutia will be back by than but to tell u the truth I don't really like bolanios playing for the national team, he is a gr8 player when he is with liga but in the national team he plays like ****
About the other games i was also very surpriced but thats what is making this qualifying games so gr8 and by the way Arg vs Peru was 1-1.
@Mastropiero Bro i know u r mad but last week u where not saying that.... I'm sure they'll play better next games.
~X
X: I know mano, my mouth is the only way to release the frustration after that...
But what's wrong with Argentina ..6 games in a row without winning??? or Brazil tying in Maracana con.........Bolivia???
They came from being 1 and 2 in the FIFA ranking to 6th and 7th I think...
u know i don't really think is anything wrong with Argentina or Brazil, I just think that the other countries are starting to catch up and play a lot better a lot of them have players playing in other countries and that seems to be helping them a lot and evening out the playing field.

Peru deserved to win that game. Argentina looked bad out there
kinda cool that we managed to tie it with like one second left
yup, Peru had soooo many gr8 chances and Argentina got lucky with that Goal but man was the peruano goal ever a gr8 one.... that was the best goal of this games in my opinion.

OMG!!! what a game that was crazy, all i have to say is "karma is a b!tch" same thing that happen to Ecuador in Argentina happen to Argentina in Peru..... but i have to give it to the Perunos they played very well and u can see that they where hungry for the win, good for them, they played a gr8 game.
Brazil vs Bolivia
All i can say is that Bolivia played a gr8 game and showed that u never know with soccer, it always comes down to the team that wants it more.... good game for Bolivia bad game for Brazil.
Chile vs Colombia
I don't know what happen to Colombia but they had a really bad game and Chile took advantage of it.
Ecuador vs Uruguay
Both teams played hard and i thought they where even over all, i wish Ecua would have won the game but a tie is better than a loss when they play in Uruguay.
Anyways, we are so f@cked for the game vs Chile we have lost most of our players do to injuries and yellow cards can't really say how we are going to do against them.
man this qualifying games are going to come down to the last game, this is some gr8 soccer we are watching at the moment, can't tell what is going to happen next.
how did u guys find the games?

Uruguay didn't let la tri practice at the stadium yesterday, they said because "they need to take care of the grass" for today's game and this is after Uruguay had already finish their practice
Anyways, their little mind games is not going to work, now i really want Ecuador to kick their a$$
GO ECUADOR!!!

THAT IS CHEAP MAN! I still prefer the tie though
u telling me, is a way to take the team of their game but its not going to work, Ecuador is gonna give it to them.
