McCain Gets Obama's Rejects

Filed under: Politik > John McCain

wenn5168092.jpg

As we mentioned earlier this week, Puerto Rican Reggaeton singer Daddy Yankee is endorsing Republican presidential hopeful John McCain.

Papi went on and on about McCain in a recent magazine interview about how great of a person he is.

It's probably best that Daddy Yankee, who's well known for his raunchy lyrics and who also has an assault charge, is endorsing McCain and not Obama.

In 2007, Daddy Yankee was accused of assaulting a soccer player at his hotel. And somehow during the altercation, he got shot in his leg.

So who would have thought Yankee and McCain would even have their names in the same sentence????

And, even less, have McCain introduce the famous Gasolina singer at a Phoenix high school to perform????

Odd.

However, here's the best part.

Looks like Daddy Yankee was just doing it for the publicity.

Surprise, surprise.

According to reports, a source for the Democratic Party says Daddy Yankee had originally approached Barack Obama's Latino outreach staff earlier this year with the possibility to endorse Barack.

However, Barack's people weren't interested in his support, for obvious reasons.

That's when he moved over to try and use McCain for some publicity.

However, an email from McCain's spokesman, Michael Golfarb, says, "Thats a 'Ludacris' suggestion, and given the number of shady characters and organizations that have endorsed Barack Obama, we find it hard to believe the Obama campaign has turned down any endorsements at all."

What good would Daddy Yankee do????

One, he's Puerto Rican and P.R. is a U.S. Territory - so they don't vote in Presidential elections. And, Daddy Yankee primarily appeals to the much younger, non-voting crowd.

Good choice there, McCain.

Who's next to endorse you, Snoop Dogg?

Yes, Chilindrina... Daddy Yankee IS an idiot. Isn't he some sort of businessman, though? Like the reggaeton street thing is just a front? I heard that he's a savvy businessman, so that might be a smart move for him.

Or he's an idiot.

Oh, and BTW, that girl in the picture with him kinda looks like you. You could do one of those "Separated at Birth" that Perez does.

maybe Daddy Yankee should take a look at this videos first before he starts opening his mouth........ after, he should also go and see all the latinos that are living in the streets because they have lost their house.

I have to agree Daddy Yankee is an idiot!

Daddy Yankee Hearts John McCain

Filed under: Music Minute > Politik > John McCain

daddyyankee.jpg

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag can add Daddy Yankee to their small, Hollywood Republican crew.

The Puerto Rican reggaeton star told Latina magazine that the Senator made an impression on him the first time they met, at an event nearly two years ago:

"I thought he was a really cool person, and this was way before he was even a presidential candidate, and I liked him a lot."

The two reconnected last month when they were both in New York.

Daddy Yankee says:

"He invited me [to Washington] and I went. We talked about boxing, we're both boxing fanaticsthe cool thing about McCain is that the same guy that was senator is the same guy who is running for president now. When I talked to him, I never felt beneath him, he looks directly at me when hes speaking to me, and we have the same level of respect for each other."

He was also very impressed with McCain's military service:

But it was the stories McCain told him of his time on the battlefield that really struck a chord with the musician. "He said, 'Yankee, I was a soldier. And I saw people die next to me, Latinos who never got their citizenship but who were willing to die for this country. I saw a Hernandez, I saw a Rodriguez, how they killed them.' And that broke my heart hearing that. And I went, man, this guy lived it. Hes not just going, 'hey I want your vote.' He lived it."

The music star went on to say, "I was surprised I have to say at how willing to listen he is. People who havent met him might get the wrong perception of him but he's totally different."

What a moron.  Perhaps he should take a close look at where republicans stand on most issues that affect latinos before opening up in support of them.
