GUYS GUYS GUYS...

I don't want ANYBODY labeling me KING of anything. I haven't reached any plateau or anything of that calibre to be given such a name. People who get such a name or name themselves such a name, should check their ego if there wasn't anything significant to back it up. ANYBODY who knows me knows I don't crave for popularity nor care for bragging rights. I'm in this business for the love of music and how it can touch people with it's universal language. I'm DEFINATELY not in it to become some "king" to anybody. Why do you think I'm the ONLY artist out there yelling at everyone to "Support Latin Urban Talent"!?!?!? Let alone, start a campaign to create awareness for lack of interest in our local talent?? I'm the only one who mentions it at EVERY SHOW I do on the microfone. Hell, thanks to LaDyBuG and company for the t-shirts that were made to promote the awareness. I wish success to ALL who are struggling in this business with utmost honesty to bring out their talents and creations for all to hear. Those who are in it for the wrong reasons and those who like to be sell outs and rip offs, I don't care much for. I respect those who respect the stage. There's so much talent in this city working jobs they hate. It's sad......I have more faith in our artists than most people would. Most of the time I put my efforts in other's projects BEFORE mine....think of others before me! You might wanna ask some of them if I ever charged them for my services!! Some might say that I'm stupid for it, but I believe that there are no "superstars" here. I care for unifying the latin community to create success on a BIGGER level. I let my music speak for itself and if that is what makes me successful, I will be much more proud than if I walked around calling myself the KING....MUCH more proud! NOBODY is King, Queen, Prince or Princess except God himself!

Confundida, you're a sweety for being supportive but Mariah Carey DID create the track My All originally. I simply did the translation to spanish and recorded all the instruments to an arrangment of bachata that I ceated. When Dominicanada released their CD with the song, the translation and arrangement credits went to me. But the beautiful Mariah Carey is labelled as the composer.

Hope that helped guys. Now let's concentrate on the support for our artists in the city ok?

The king of bachata in T.O. is Carlos Cruz he is the only Bachatero in Canada to have a great album in stores. Ricky Franco needs to be more orginal I don't think he is a good example for to rep Canada as a composer or writer. A Translater should be working for immigration. In all, Mariah already released the track in spanish and as well had been remixed in 3 different languages throughout the world.

hey guys! you know I respect all of your opinions, but honestly....the definition of a king is a male soveriegn, a supreme being predominant in a specific group........crowned head, monarch........basically, I think also its someone who has reigned through history. For example, Elvis is the king of Rock and Roll because he had made rock and roll a place in the book. Michael Jackson is the King of pop, because he too had taken Pop to the next levels. Both these artists have been great influences in the history of music and have also been role models for such artists today. There are many debates as to who would be the King of salsa... Tito Puente, or Johnny Pacheco? there are so many....most of these artists now would only be considered members of royalty, but certainly not kings. Ricky Franco would prob. be classified as one of the founding fathers of bachata soul, but certainly not a king of bachata. Even Aventura wouldn't be considered kings either. They would be founding fathers of Spangish Bachata..... the king of bachata would prob. have to be battled out between Anthony Santos, raulin Rodriguez or even Luis Vargas.........i don;t know, these are just some thoughts

jajaja king of bachata wow funny anyways wilson manuel is not the king of bachata i dont know who came up with that name but i wouldnt call him that couse he is a great talent and who knows he might be a big bachata star like alex bello at this moment (go get wilsons cd and alexs coming soon...) and on ricky hes also a talented guy and great singer if i would call any1 the king of bachata in toronto it would have to be carlos cruz got to give him respect for opening the doors for new talent but i dont think artists should be called the king they all work hard and big ups 2 them

Well i guess some promoter are desperate to put labels to their product specially when the product is not well know in the comunity.Just to get attencion.I aso never hear about this guy.

Promoters should realixe that the comunity is not buying this labels all the time.

but like genie i have seen Ricky Franco and i think he should be the king, i read good reviews about him on many local magazines,web pages and newspapers even one name him "El revolucionarion de la musica latina" or something like that wicht i think Ricky is.

Supposedly some guy called wilson manuel who's performing at a little hole called las brisas is now called the "king of bachata"...LOL. Who ever came up with this name needs a straight jacket for being retarded. people have to start somewhere from the bottom. i'm a big bachata fan and i've never heard the name wilson manuel until i got an annoying spam e-mail from picants express which labels him as the king. wow too funny
