We know how to have fun, but our ideal image of having fun isnt at a place that looks like are jr. high school dance! While you were having "fun" with the twelve year old girls that pile loads of makeup on and where less clothes then the grown woman, we were partying at places like Babaluus where it does not scream GHETTOO, and the guys don't have to worry if their going to get arrested for dancing with twelve year old girls aka "jail bait"!

I have to agree with this one. I was stunned when I saw these pics. If these kids are 14 + or whatever......wow....they look tore up! I can understand more or less why they dress like this, I guess to fit in, look like everybody else, and look intimidating. Anyways, the thing is, if promoters want reggaeton to be portrayed in more of a positive manner than a negative, they must control what type of crowd they want. A dress code is strongly recommended. I'm not saying where a tuxedo and ball gown, but stipulate what is not allowed.
I am basing this on the fact that I was in Puerto Rico last year and attended a Hector,Tito,Wisin,Yandel,OG Master Black, etc..etc. It was a nice concert with all these artists and was all ages! I was a little disappointed it was an all ages event. Hey, all I thought, "Damn....I'm gonna get shot!". (This feeling coming from the fact that at the most Reggaeton clubs in PR, there is usually a shooting every weekend). Anyways, I was pleasently surprised when I saw that all the young ladies and gentlemen were dressed to impress, it was very classy, and mind you these were kids, some went with their parents.
Sooo.....all it takes is setting some ground rules and the right type of crowd should come around. You see some kids won't bother, and others will if they really want to be there.

I'm gonna have to agree. I'm not into that whole fashion trend, and those pics probably through off the people that are new to the reggaeton scene, but you have to understand that the Reggaeton scene is highly influenced by the Hip hop and reggae scene of today. If you go to any Reggae/Soca jam which is almost the equivalent to a reggaeton jam, it would be the same style. Also keep in mind that the event was an all ages event, it will look a little different for the 19+ crowd. As long as the music is dope and the atmosphere is positive thats all that really matters at these Venues. Hopefully the reggaeton scene in the TDOT always stays on the positive tip. Cuz whats really the point of having these events if there is going to be negativity.
ya that is true some kids do make us look bad they all try and look all bad by dressing all nasty lol but u gotta remeber that some latinos do dress good its an urban fashion thats huge with the hats and long shirts and shoes lol its a fashion grown by hip hop anyways i got mad love for every1 here keep doing ur thing (loving and hating lol couse TH is the spot)

@FEA.. Dont apologize just change ur ways and then im kool and i assure u that whatever scene ur into i respect that and if it was anything to do with latin culture i like it.
@PLAYERO yea man people gotta embrace this new wave man, i mean salsa merengue etc... is beatifull, but reggaeton is just somthing that young latino people can relate more to u know especially the one that grew up in the states or in whatever north american city.
i think this this shows how the latinos that grew up in latin america and moved here at a mature age reflect the old fashioned and traditional valued that sometimes are negative to our community, as opposed to the more aggresive "the world is yours" type mentality of the young latinos that grew up in the north america or where born here, i think we need to respect both standpoints without hatred or predjudice.

I felt like I was looking at pictures from that show "Laura" from Peru No wonder alot of people avoid the reggaeton scene here!!! Con todas esas caras !! Yo me asustaria!!
