I agree with Cosita Dulce in that a TRUE player is someone that does not need to sneek around. They are sooooooooo good at what they do that women or men will take whatever time they can get with them.
If you are not in a relationship and you take care of yourself than I guess it's okay to have multiple partners. I personally am more of a one guy type of girl but I don't judge or see anything wrong with people that are honest and enjoy sleeping around....it is only sex after all.

A player, in my opinion, is one who can handle more than one partner at a time and keep them happy. You see, if a guy is able to be with more than one girl and they all know about each other but are cool with it as long as they get their share every now and then, then that guy is a player. He's playing the game right. No cheating, 'cuz he's so nice when he's with them and is not lying either. He's honest and nobody is getting hurt. This is applicable to both females and males. Now on the other hand, there are those females/males, ('cuz girls do it too) that think they are "players" but in reality are they are is messed up and want others to join 'em. Cheating and playing dirty is one thing. It doesn't lead to anything good. In the end all these so-called "players" end up ALONE with STDs. Hahaaaaa! I'm sure we all know at least one person this has happenned too. Just my opinion and observations.

IN MY OPINION A PLAYER CAN BE TWO THINGS HERE THEY ARE:

Why well i guess its a thrill will i get caught or maybe you find qualities in two ppl that you like but what one has the other might not have. So you fall for both and thats how u end up with the title Player.
