How about friends that ask you to co-sign for them for a really expensive item. Ugh... hate to be in that spot

I think most people with a littel common sense would know better than to ask to borrow something of significant value to you, unless it's absolutely necessary
If they don't, then you probably shouldn't keep them too close

I do NOT think I'd have much trouble lending my car... if I am not using it, and a friend needs it... have it.

I don't get asked to borrow the car, I get asked to give rides once in a blue moon. A friend will need to pick something heavy from the store or something, I'll go and be a friend if I am not too busy. blankstare.gif

Saying "no, you can't use my car" could also ruin yuor relationship, no?
I usually just make up an excuse like "Errrr.... I can't find it"
Besides, I don't usually have friends that ask to borrow extremely valuable things, and don't think I would keep friends that keep asking to borrow very valuable things

it really depends on the situation, e.g emergencies. then i don't see why not.
but if he is gonna ask to use my car, e.g, stupid date, then i'll tell him to eff off. he'll get it.

like a car for example, i'd just say NO!
Your car is probably the first or second most valuable thing you own,Youre protecting a big financial asset. Plus, if your friend were to get into an accident, your relationship might be totaled, too.
