but the truth is, we all come from the same roots. it runs through your vains. and what brings us together is the motivation to succeed in a foreign country. Some did, some didn't and while others are still trying to pursue it. there is no crime in that. Being legal or illegal doesn't and won't stop you from your dreams (the american dream)
on that first part about luck.....trust me it's not luck really....there can't be anything worse than being forcedto leave the country you love, your family and everything behind because you HAVE to. With my parents it wasn't "I want antoher life" it was life or death.
I agree with you to a certian extent but we all know the "American dream" is a load of crap. The CANADIAN dream...now that's more like it.
no way! i was kidding.lol yes it is crap. but you all know what i meant by that.
I can't imagine how sad it must be to leave your country for those reasons. In the end, like i said, once you step on canadian soil, you hope for a better life. Just like any other legal or illegal. weather you are indian, russian, mexican, or chinese. Changes are you're gonna end up joining this forum anyway. lol
HA HA that was a total blankstare moment. I know sad...but very true
Anyway I think we are on the same page on this subject. The lack of compassion is just well.............silly. There that's a nice way to put it.

Technically speaking we live ina democratic world....does tha thappen in ecua??
Every dollar that is yours is yours....does that happen in ecua??
We live in a first world country.....what Ecua??
oye de que hablas? my point was that you rarely see ecuadorians in this city get tangled with immigration related issues...the majority of us have been here for soo long and we are pretty much established here is a solid community...we rarely face any of the issues that alot of other latinos go through
@ Chilenita - My parents had papers here (visa) from when Ecuas first immigrated to Canada. They've been here like something crazy of 35 + yrs. They appiled in Ecaudor while living there, Canada had open doors to immigrantes & was accepting applications, so they appilied & got it (simple). This was waaaaayyyyyyy before there were this much of immigrantes (latin)here.
u said it yourself u will hardly ever see ecuas in canada getting involved in immigration issues.....truth is the majority of us and our parents have been here for many many many years my fam like yours have been here for 25 years or more....we are one of the first long time settled latin communities in Toronto ......in fact let me rephrase that we are the pioneers of the latin community in toronto we came here in big big numbers that not even the chilenos and argies came close too i mean honestly what other latin community here does and can do what we do? we have the senority to ask our city hall to set up ecuavolley saturdays at any park that we desire in the GTA haha we can throw jams at night with music dj's and lots of booze without knowing saying ****! i luv our privileges
ok, so im totally confused with anything HE says.

As for the States go, they are too scared to take a stand agaisnt illegals there too many of them (i bet you if they really did a a head count there will be more than 12 million lurcking about)

Okay so they came here because they were obviously in some sort of need I assume...needed or wanted a better life. Must be something like that or they would still be in Ecuador. I guess what some (especially Genie -lol) might have a hard time understanding is why you have no compassion for people in the same type of situation. How can you be so sure that if immigration was NOT so open back then that they would not have chosen the illegal route. Your inability to relate to others with your same roots is what I find strange. The attitude that "we were lucky and fu ck those who are not" is sort of...well...cold hearted to put it mildly.
Get where I am coming from?
My parents came here papers in hand....plane ticket paid for by the goverment and money upon arrival due to a horrible situation back home. I was born here and they have been here forever but that does not make me look at others who didnt have the same easy way in and say "ahhhh to hell with them ship them back" ..................
some got luckier that others. i was joking.

@ Duro - Well my parents came to Canada with full papers, not illegal.
@ Genie - It's all fine & cool how u think & feel towards me, but it's not about educating urself, it doesn;t make a diffrence. I never said illegal ppl are unecessary, bad ppl. or criminal, etc, I said I personally don't agree with it, don't care how hard they work or wat they go thru, things gotta be doen rite. I can GARANTEEEEEEE U TONS of others feel like me, no diffrent then some feel like u. It's opinions, it will allways be divided.
I guess at the end of the day ur rite I got everything easy handed to me & my parents never been thru illegal status so I DON'T really know by experince how it is. I'm defenilty NOT taking away the efforts of illegal immigrantes but either way I think things should be done rite from the beginning & that's that.
Not to even go to Far X didn't have papers when he first got here or the states, so WAT, he had to get them & he went thru the hard times (Iguess, I think) STILL won't change my opinion.
@ Dogo -
Princessa can I ask how your parents got papers BEFORE coming to Canada?

I think they should get rid of all Illegal Immigrantes.
I personally would never give an illegal person a job.
and how do u think our parent got there start
@Duro - Exactly!!!
At the other comment honestly its not arguring with you and how you said its your opinion i respect that but can i just state that you have a very narrow minded way of thinking!! Who do you think builds half the homes here in Ontario? Hell in Canada? Do you honestly think that all legal immirgrants want to work minimum wage? God princessa i hope that you never go thur the needs that an illegal person has to go thru! and if you think that ppl come here and apply for there residence and its just handed to them your so f-en wrong you need to get out there and read a book!! YOU SHOULD EDUCATE YOURSELF! and you may have came to canada and had shiat handed to you but man if you knew what some of our parents had to go thru you may have some kind of respect for ppl!!
I for one can officially say that i have lost all sense of respect for someone like you!
God wrote:You don't se Jose from Mexico asking money para una tacos
O manuel de Salvador asking money for pupusas...
I agree with God and X: We need illegal alliens.
Like I've said in a different thread: Many of us came from parents or grandparents who immigrated here, many illegally. Most of us know someone or are even related/close friends with someone who came illegally and most illegal people come with good purposes/goals for a better life.
I am still illegal and I need to stay here - Canada very gud tu mi!

Not everything I post or say on foro are necesarily true facts. <- THAT is a fact! :blankstare:
Any country needs Illegal immigrants...face it...like or not
The opposite of Legal immigrants they won't go to wellfare...I rather to have 10 Ilegal immigrants working their arse off than 3 Legal ones in wellfare..Which one cost you more as tax Payer ?
Some specific industries such Construction is based in Illegal Immigrants most of them Italian, Portugese, eastern eurpean, etc, etc....do you think the honkies are going to do that job ...no...Plus Illegal immigrants are cheaper and better for that kind of companies...no taxes, no sick days , no holidays...you know..
Normally (most of them) illegal immigrats are looking for better opportunities and they are willing to do anything for getting some money in their pockets.
If you look downton all the panhndlers what are they....whithey ! they are legal, they have medicare, and they have perfect english...
You don't se Jose from Mexico asking money para una tacos O manuel de Salvador asking money for pupusas...
Normally Ilegal Immigrants become part of the sub economy.
Overnight, some industries would become desperate for workers. The biggest beneficiaries would be low-skilled American workers. The big losers might surprise you.
At least 12 million illegal immigrants live in the U.S. Most pick crops, wash dishes, build houses, cut lawns and do other jobs for between $6 and $15 an hour. They make up about 5% of the total U.S. work force. But
Cus i think that it's unfair (to those who go thru the full process, pay, get denied & keep trying, etc) & illegal, plus if it's my company i don't need this kinda crap, when I can hire probably with the same low pay ppl with papers & willing to work.
Why arguments - it's my opinion & don't care if other disagree.
The biggest losers would be middle-class families with two working parents, living in high-immigrant states such as California, Texas, Florida or New York. Why? They would pay more for food, housing, entertainment and child care as a shortage of low-skilled workers drove up some wages, and therefore, some prices. Meantime, their own pay would remain the same. What's more, the ripple effect of thousands of businesses shrinking or closing for lack of staff might put one of the parents out of a job. Not to mention the garbage collection going to pot and no one to polish the missus' nails.
The winners, for a change, would be the low-skilled unemployed, living just about anywhere -- if they were willing to move. Of the 12 million illegal immigrants, about 8 million are employed, mostly in low-skill jobs. The U.S., meantime, has about 22 million less-educated jobless adults, many of them blacks and legalized Hispanics, according to a 2008 report from the Center for Immigration Studies, a research group based in Washington, D.C.
