No there is no double standard. At least not from me. I know there are a MILLION other places to take kids...obviously but this parade is supposed to be about acceptance which is a great thing to teach your kids BUT you can't take them to teach it or see it because there are too many freaking naked people there.....

Is that a double standard ? Ofcouse there is a double standard on this for sure it would be cool if Straight could do a parade like this but u know it will never happen cause if Straight do it is morally wrong but if gays do it is ok why?? Cause every one is afraid of being call a homophobic...

LOL, we were discussing this a few weeks ago with Guada's hubby. This is his mentality. He doesent understand why all the nekkedness.
About taking kids, i have the same thoughts as you. I want them to be open minded and accepting, but taking them to something like this i think they would get the wrong extreme impression.

I think that the getting nakid in public during the parade works for them to get more attention and draw more people (perverts ) to the event. At the same time, all the nakedness may make some people view gay people as being much more wild/crazy and this behaviour may make them less acceptable for some.
NONE of the gay men I know (and I know lots) ever walk around naked so it's just silly and absurd to me. I don't mind people naked and I have always liked the parade but now I have a daughter who I would LOVE to take so I can teach her acceptance but I can't because there is naked D I C K everywhere

As I said, I've never been, but by what I've seen on TV, I don't think taking a kid is a good idea... at least I woudn't. Not till they are in their teens

I have gone more than a few times. It's always fun to me.
I'll never forget the first year I convinced my parents to go....there we are standing ...watching the parade and a bunch of guys on a float started spraying my dad with water guns....he did one of these My mom was dancing like a maniac.....
GOOD times man...GOOD times!!
