i came at 9 so i had no problem. but i know from others that the change was very difficult. it depends on the person. if you're ready for a new lifestyle and are willing to adapt then it's worth it. most people move back home because they can't handle the change of lifestyle and some porque son bagos para trabajar. they can't handle starting from the bottom. son muy creidos and have to much pride for that.
TO is a great city and it's full of opportunities.

En lo personal, yo creo que a todos nosotros nos ha sido muy dificil acostumbrarnos a este pais, especialmente a la gente mayor (the older you are, the harder it is to adapt), pero este pais tiene muchas ventajas y si uno lucha fuerte y se propone metas definitivas, todo se puede lograr. En lo personal, a mi, como a Yesi y a la mayoria de los hispanos que hemos venido a Canada, me fue dificil adaptarme, pero yo me enamore de este pais, y aunque hice de todos los trabajos imaginables (cleaning, McDonald's, coffee shops, retail, customer service, you name it), me propuse aprender ingles y educarme y asi poco a poco la situacion fue mejorando. Yo se que despues de tener buenos trabajos en nuestros paises no es muy glamoroso venir a hacer menial jobs aqui, pero por algo se empieza, no? Todo es fijarnos metas y lograrlas.

Its like anywhere else, you gotta fight for what you are after.... but the difference is the larger amount of opportunities here and the weather...brrrrrrrrrrrrr
My first job was cleaning f***ing toilets and floors and i know a lot of people the same. then i went on to factories, more cleaning etc etc after college it kind of changed a bit but it took me some years to start getting half decent jobs. as for the weather i hate it!!!! every1 have different opinions thou, i guess the yonger you get here the better you'll do in your career.. of course that is if you la luchas!!!
I Agree with chilena...... English is the keyword.... plus papers.....to come to Canada with not english,no papers, no education and no Work Experience..it doesn't give you a clear forecast......

It depends on a lot of things like: your english skills, skill set, workers permit etc....
I know plenty of people that come and don't have any trouble in finding work wether they know english or have a permit to work or not.
What types of jobs were you looking into?
Other than that life in T.O is great.....yeah the weather is crap but you can always get away for a bit in the winter...
