The best raggeton artist in toronto is  Fito.   He even has his stuff on vinyl i got it 4 months ago in my dj pool.  The best local Reggaton dj is Dj Frenzy.  Who has all reggaton on vinyl.  How many Dj can say that.  Cavatumba is sick too.  And code blue is for real.  Their gonna be pioneers of the first reggeton club in down town TO thats respect.  We have the local talent people.  Lets support them.  Did you hear Charlie.

Respectably MC CRAZZY CARLITOS

Thanks Homie!

Now that's the type of posting Iwas looking to read. Two music fans who may have different opinions but express them without much drama in between (except for the "*$#! out your mind" but i aint vexing).

I'll check out the documental album for sure...link me sum more info on it pls? Much props to Vico but I had the chance to meet him in NY '02 and didn't think much of him as a person. He carried himself weak almost. Maybe he was having a ****ty day but still.

Peace.

na bro, ive been hearing reggaeton way b4 any of you did here in T.O. Before it wasent even labeld "reggaeton" 1992-1994 back then vico c was holding it down (the best rapper from pr) . Back then it was known as just spanish reggae. And if u think that this music genre hasent changed then u must be *$#! out your mind. The beats back then were just way to fast, with little variety, and bad producers behind many songs. Just compare a song from hector y tito yankee or baby rasta y gringo like 6 years ago those cats had a different flow back then trust me im telling you in alot of songs they sound different. Now just recently in the past 2 to 3 years ,songs have been changing i think every artist in general changed in some ways their music, flow etc. and whats even more is that you got producers thats are doing a better job then before ( luney tunes #1). This time artists are doing more of a club mainstream approach with more variety in their songs (including salsa merengue bachata hiphop rap and collabos with american rappers)  Now people here think that reggaeton sounds all alike cause they are recently just getting exposed to it, any reggaeton fan and follower would know what im talking about. Thats why now this music is much more succesfull and appreciated in the u.s. If it keeps going the way it is then it will become even bigger possibly like dancehall reggae? well see. And one other thing i give yankee way more props then tego cause hes been in the scene since 94! (although he wasent the best back then!) i got his first song on one of The Noise mix tapes, Tego don omar have made it big cause they came with a different approach. But personally Lito y Polaco vico c and tempo will smoke those 2 any day any time any place. Those 3 cats have been in the game way longer and their music back then was still hype as compared to the early music of yankee hector y tito plan b  baby rasta y gringo. But u know something reggaeton being ****ty or better back then Boricuas have always been showing luv to the music I aint even rican but ive always been exposed to it threw going back and forth from ny since i was 12. i got the chosen few documental album u should check it out tempo is hype! his album is going to be sick ..peace

Here's some advise. Read the post, Understand the post, reflect on the post and then post your reply. I wasn't hating on the genre at all. I love reggaeton. My point was that since the genre came out of PR it hasn't changed much from what artists and producers were doing in the mid nineties. Believe me, change is good and it would be great if more artists would come up with there own way of presenting their skillz such as Daddy Yankee and Tego have.

By the way: just bought Daddy Yankee's mixtape "Kings Of New York" on itunes. 'ta buenisimo!

Track #2 (Mexicano) is my fav. has ne1 else heard it (the track or the mixtape)

Peace mi gente. and pls don't confuse positive critisism with hating.

The same could be said about Reggaeton. Come on peeps! da sh!t's been out for years now and all these cats have been using the same lame beats over and over. Not hating on the genre at all....But we need something FRESH...it really is starting to get boring.

Ok,

Unfortunately, you will not know if it is going to end up like ORO SOLIDO if you don't go. Now, there is not a sure-fire way for the promoters to ensure that there will not be a fight. If you feel this strongly about it and want to avoid all-ages events, then don't go and hear about it the next day or two. Simple as that. Most likely, the promoters learned their lesson and will probably focus a little more on the security this time. But hey don't quote me on that one.

I hope you guys organize your security good for this event because if it ends up anything like the Oro Solido event, I ain't going. The all ages thing always makes alot of people stay home. Plus if you think about it, the youth don't consume anything so the venue should look at it in that point of view. Please assure us that your security will be legit and MOST importantly PROFESSIONAL. Unfortunately, I don't trust kids nowadays...they always have something to prove and friends to prove it to. How can u assure us?????

TO CONFUNDIDA

some people just know know how to write, if you don't like the job the promoters are doing then do something yourself, you seem to think you know it all then go ahead, so the people of the city that you can promote or organize something better.

otherwise tuck your feathers in and shut your beak..

fito blanko deserves to be up front that day performing at the opening Why? simply because the reason is logical, hes the one who is representing reggaeton to the fullest here in T.O. Code blue is hiphop ..they should be opening at a hiphop event. Or if anything fito and code blue should be side by side.. Any how that DJ Kassanova the hotttest reggaeton dj in NY is gonna be there that day...if any of u are true reggaeton fans, ull know what im talking about, not to mention all the songs remixes, and productions he does, Its about time we had events like these in T.O as usuall T.O is 100 years behind ..time for a major change!!
