SO TRUE! I went over to Colombia over the holidays y todas las personas con el reggaeton left  right and center!! its mad popular !!! i thought it was just as new as it is here but hell no. I have to agree with that dude about the bachata. I didnt even hear nada de eso while i was there,

although im a bachata fan, im starting to enjoy reggaeton now! must admit!

No doubt reggaeton is bigger in the US and Latin America, just check out the population ratio, we can't even compare TO's latin presence to most US cities, my point being if you have 1 million people loving it here and 20 thousand loving it there= which way are the Promoters and Managers going first? where the Demand($$$$) is at, basics "Supply and Demand"

balance baby

Same way; we want it here, we'll have it here!!!!!!!!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, that’s what foros are all about, but try to keep the hostility out. Now I must admit Toronto is progressing well in the Reggaeton scene. Y2J Ent is doing big things. The Djs @ the clubs are playing some dope reggaeton sets. There is a reggaeton/latin hip hop event sometime towards the end of the month and next month is the Reggaeton Explosion event @ Bamboo. Respect to everyone making these events happen. To the people posting and the people reading don't be thinking that we can go from Nothing into Something in a short period of time. True say Toronto started a little late on this whole scene but are we always going to dwell on that? No!! We shouldn't! Let’s look forward.

As for the reggaeton artists to bring down, lets look at it on a realistic tip. Daddy Yankee #1 one on the Latin Billboard charts and hottest reggaeton artist at the moment. Probably not going to happen to much of a HIGH demand. Cosita Dulce, I would say Zion y Lennox or even Yandel, both have hot tracks. The max that should spent would have to be $40. Time period, anytime in summer.

I agree with u 100% but from what i can remember it took bachata a few years before it got so big here in T.O. also is all about time a lot of pasiensia

Wow! It's amazing how this post got all hasty. That is not cool at all. All I wanted was people to vote.
We as Latino's are supposed to be united but seeing all this negativity coming from some people, disgusts me. It is very tragic that it has to be this way. So far I have heard very negative things about being in Toronto. As for the people bringing Nicky Jam. Hey more props to you. That's great and much success for you. However, there is no reason to criticize the city where you are at (very unprofessional). Yes, we all live in Toronto. Hence, "torontohispano.com", so I don't understand why you would suggest people take their business elsewhere, like Miami, NY or Montreal.

If we are behind, so be it. There is nothing we can do about that, but it doesn't mean that we are "copiers" or "followers". It seems as though some people worry more about being "behind" rather than focus on the positive things that Toronto has to offer when compared to other cities that only offer being up to date with Reggaeton music. Yes, this genre of music is nice, it's popular, and definitely fun, so let's try to keep it that way.

Last year, both these artists could have been here for the price of one, but unfortunatelly, we as Torontonians have to copy the rest of the world ...and do it last.We follow the flow but a little late. Hey wanna be promotor talk is cheap, bring them down and hands down to you!!!

As for us being a bit or a lot behind who cares why do we have to compare ourselves to the US or PR, DR, grow up just enjoy life as it comes to you. I went to New York with the Dominicanada song My All and Alex Bello cd Sin Ti and they fell in love with it and never heard it at the time it was pretty old here.... so what!!! damn tired of seeing all this ish on this foro mentioning that we re behind as a promotor that you say you are bring us to that advance level JUNIORS

I don't think so..... his one of the top reggaeton artis at the moment and like they said in another thread it would be too much money to bring him, I'm sure no1 would want to take a chance and not have a sold out concert, specially here in T.O. if u know what i mean :(

I think Daddy Yankee Don Omar followed by any of the other artists u mentioned b4 would do good. 1 cuz Daddy yankee is representing the the most right now in the scene.and he probably will be the one representing the most for a while (just like tego did last year) and second Don Omar cuz roughly everyone here knows who he is pretty much..Zion y lennox would also be good as a 3rd option cuz they have a number of good songs romantic ones for the ladies and full perreo sonds for both men an women..I wouldnt consider Tego cuz hes kinda of in a downlow at the moment..until his new album drops..:)

Ok

I got a proposal, well actually a survey:

If it was possible to throw a concert who would be of preference. I'm doing this for a reason, not just to BS all of you. I need to know the demand in order to supply my fellow Latinos in the city. Ok, who would be of interest in attending at a reggaeton concert:

Hector y Tito, Sir Speedy, Daddy Yankee, Tego Calderon, Lito Y Polaco, Don Chezina, Plan B, Nicky Jam, Wisin Y Yandel, Plan B....if you can think of somebody else, let me know. Oh and of course we have to include our local talent as an opening act, only courteous. Well, get back to me. Choose the top 3 that you think you would actually consider in spending some money on tix for. Also, what would you spend on a tick that included at least 2 acts? Once again, I am asking for a reason, and what better place than TH.

P.S. Also what would be a good time of year to do this. I have a time-period in mind, but I need all the input that I can get from you. Thanks in advance. Greatly appreciated.
