So chilenita, for you it does not matter how much blood a dictator have in his hands?
Does not matter what Anmisty Int and HRW say?. It does not matter how well documented crimes are?
The murderer only has to be left wing and antiamerican for you to support him.
So if Pinochet was antiamerican and communist and would have done the same things against right wing people would you still support him?.

I think your double standar is interesting.

Please this not personal,it is about priciples. just trying to figure out how como some people's rights are more important than others, and some crimes are justified and others not.

This sunday we will know who is the new dictador of Cuba. But the true is if Fidel deside to step out of power it will be better for him to die soon, because from the time he step down and he is no longer the president of Cuba he is open to be prosecuted for his crimes.  remember what happen to Pinochet when he visit Inglaterra?, a country he consider friendly.

Many people in Miami are asking the spanish Juez Garzon to go after Fidel Castro, only time will tell. The good thing is now we have a good JUSTICIA INTERNACIONAL that will go after ALL DICTADORES and make them pay for their crimes.

And if is true that his little brother (Raul Castro) is responsible for many asasinations, its realistic to think that Fidel will give the presidency to his brother to keep him safe from prosecution, at least for now.

This back and forth is almost pointless.  I mean ideas on this topic are sooooooooooooooooooooo divded and usually if you think one way you disagree strongly with the other side.

Just like pro American Bush lovers. Some people LOVE Bush for example who has more blood on his hands than anyone.  It's really just a matter of opinion.

Although it is incredibly sad for me to see how the United States goverment and their troops are destroying Iraq at least its kept them far away from Latin America!!!  At least countries like Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina and Uruguay can function without the United States starting a coup.  YIPEEE for that!!

Raul castro no es una blanca Paloma, he has alot blood on his hands , Raul Castro is responsible for hundreds od executions, in fact it's well documented Raul personally supervised the execution of  hundreds of police and military officials and Batistiano soldiers. The prisoners were shot and the corpses thrown directly into trenches and buried in mass graves outside Santiago de Cuba and he was in charge of that.

Raul is well  known for sanguinary individual , as Fidel's Iron fist, he has more perestroica on his political beliefs than Fidel. He also was able to keep Fidel's temper on check. Raul is the Fidel castro Lite...he's very practical and prolly he will adopt a the chinese economic model, bringing a more reform minded ideology less harsh.

Even with raul in charge the embargo will stay in place until a Cuba get Democracy and freedom.

Well I respect your opinion and all that you may have to say.

I know Cubans who kiss the ground that Fidel walks on and are 100% behind his revolution.  I also know there are Cubans that dislike him.

I believe in his revolution so you and I will never agree and that is fine.

As far as the "truth" is concerned...well there are different versions of that as well.

Hi chilenita, the fact that the americans have tried all those ridiculous ways to get reed of Castro , it does not mean that Castro is an Angel ok.
If you do not beleive in the Americans I don't blame you. But it is not only the americans the ones who have reported Castro's  well doccumented violations of Human Rights, nehither the  only ones who manipulate information.Actualy in Cuba there is the same  if not  more manipulation of the information. The sole fact that the internet is no allowed in Cubans houses should tell you something is very wrong. the  only press allowed is that of the communist party.Independant reporters are put in jail.
Anmisty International and  Human Rights Watch, for example have been very clear in showing to the world Castro's flgrant violations of human Rights. All you have to do is to go to any of their websites and search for Cuba and you will find the truth.
You seem to forget that toghether with the votes against the embargo. Cuba has been condemned by the United Nations in more than 20 occasions for its human Righs violations.
Even Canada has intervened on behalf of a lot of political prisioners in the past.
So please let's not make this issue  a Castro vs America  only thing it is also Castro vs the Cuban People.
DICTATORS ARE DICTATORS WHETHER THEY ARE RIGHT OR LEFT WING.
WE ALL DESERVE HUMAN RIGHTS NOT ONLY ONE IDEOLOGICAL GROUP, you know a'm talking about the left.

The United States has used everything in it's arsenal to bring down the Cuban revolution - embargo, assassination attemps, INVASION, bacteriological and chemical weapons, and even the threat of world nuclear conflagration.  The most powerful weapon of all are LIES - BIG LIES...repeatedly and endlessly by goverment officials and and the MASSIVE U.S media machine.  They want the world to believe that Cuba is a "Police State" that threatens the world with communist subversion, spying, biological weapons and cyber terrorism.  Most of the world laughs at these charges and votes nearly unanimously in the UN to CONDEMN Washingtons embargo against Cuba.

I hope that the U.S will lift its disgusting blockade.  That is Cubas biggest problem!

It should be interesting to see how this will pan out.  Eventhough Cuba will just be going from super dictator to mini dictator.

dont expect to see many changes there. Fidel will always have a saying on what his brother does. Maybe once he dies things will be a bit different!!!
