I don't think that's true. I remember hearing or reading that dolphins do have sex for pleasure, and if I'm not mistaken, on another finding, so do gorillas. But even if it were true. Can we not just accept that we are different than the rest of the species? The great mayority of the rest of the species are not monogamous. Should we then also be ourselves?
As far as doing things just because they feel good should we have green light to do them?... If it harms others (e.g. killing), I get it, obviously. If it harms me (drugs, smoking, etc), that will be a stupid or weak choice that I, myself, will have to live with, and no one else. If it doesn't harm me or others (sex)... I don't quite understand

I don't really worry, and it's not about believing. I am very curious. I'm actually interested in viewing things from all angles to see why you see what I don't I'm very skeptical (you already know that) And I know it's more a matter of faith than anything else, but I'm not closeminded. I wasn't challenging you either. I actually want to see/hear other points of view to what I'm missing, if anything at all

I say God should upgrade the 10 commandments to fit with the new generation and our new lifestyles. Get The Bible to upgrade entirely from version 1.0, you know... it's old.

I think the two biggest points are that every other species uses intercourse to procreate and not for pleasure. The other is that just because things feel good, or you crave them....Doesn't mean you should have green light to do them.

I was trying to google some info on why sex is a sin and came accross the following posting on a forum:
According to organized religions, people are supposed to wait until they fall in love and get married, and then they are supposed to stay faithful and loyal to that one partner till death do them part....
And yet anyone who does a serious, scientific, anthropological study of human sex habits, eg Kinzie, discovers that humans actually have a very wide range of sexual habits - from the traditional strictly monogamous husband/wife arrangement, to homosexuality, bisexuality and all sorts of different multiple sex partner arrangements (affairs, prostitution, flings, one-night-stands, "friends with benefits", swingers/swappers, 3sums/orgies, exhibitionists, BDSMers.... just to name a few).
So if these things are "wrong" or sinful.... why do people crave them so much? Why would God create people to crave these experiences - and then punish them for it?
