LOL Thank you!! I don't everyone knowing who my family is. Sometimes i forget that this is a PUBLIC forum. LOL
@ Princessa - I'll find out some info for you. But as far as my aunt, she was able to hook us up with $400 accomodation for a week plus food. I'll see if she'll do it for u. I haven't gone yet, but i will be going next year.

I tend to be the opposite - I ALWAYS keep in mind that this IS a public forum and am careful with being to specific or providing too much personal info... Although my response was pretty safe - I edited it after you changed yours too.
I know one can never be TOO careful. But when I go to Cuenca, I know who my hook up will be! and I think my hook up may be very close to the Aeropuerto de Cuenca!
LMAO Thxs for editing it. Yes, it's very close the the airport de Cuenca!

Book well in advance for the hotel and tour packages because of the limited capacity and high demand.
Tour operators may promise one thing (ie. boats) and replace with another so if you expect something, insist on it up front and ask them what they offer you in the event that you are disappointed.
Local travel agencies in Ecuador may not take credit cards so ask before you go.
Try to see at least 3 islands to see as many animals and scenery that you can. I'd recommend at least 4 nights.
In addition to Santa Cruz (where you will likely land) I recommend San Cristobal and Isabela.
Even if you are not known to be sea sick, buy pills for motion sickness. You will be on boats a long time.
Don't expect luxury. There are a handful of luxury hotels and the boats are heavily used.
Dress in layers to accomodate for variations in heat and cold.
In low season you will have good success in haggling with locals.
Take your best digital and video cameras with as much zoom as you have. Although crime is low on the islands, insure the cameras.
or just ask Quixote

@PRINNY...girl go to a top of the line travel agency and get all the info you need. Doesn't matter that you don't actually book with them. They will know more.
NOT A LATIN AGENCY

@ El mismo - I don't think u can ride them, they are very, very anal with their animals & I think at one pint u could, but not any more. Again I'm not 100%
@ Confu - I think I would luv to do a bit of all, depending on cost, of course. Like I was looking at this ship/diving cruises, so it comes with it, but u still have to pay the $100 to eneter Galapagos & $10 for the pass of some sort.
I think overall I just wanna go & see /do as much as I can or I can streach my cash. In reality.
I found that in Sep (which is when I think of going) is fog season, the lowest in temp is 19 C. They insist that this time, best Island is Bartolome Island cus its best for pengiuns, wich is best to swim & snorkel with them. U see ton of Sea lions & they're hype & like to fight cus they like to procreate this time frame. LOL anyhow this is just soem stuff I've been reading.

Ok first it's like $40 bucks to get the embajada here to do the paper & send in the application to Ecaudor, then I have to go to Ecaudor & get my own stuff done, like la cuidadania, passport, etc.

I minus well pay approx - max 200 us & get them all doen directly in Ecuador, where with money u can get a new identity. LOL j/k
Anyhow for all the hassle I gotta do to get the Ecua passport I'm annoyed less by payin the $300-400 more & I don't deal with this ppl.
