@The Fan...that would be great...a president for all. It's not EVER like that. If he was siding with the wealthy as most do you wouldn't hear anything about it.
I have family in Venezuela. Some people wish him death and others love him. When you are extreme on either side of the coin this is the way it is.
Personally I find him over the top in a silly way for my taste. I liked him more years ago.

Honestly I think it's silly to think he has other motives.
He has done tons of good things just not for people who are wealthy.
He did what nobody could do and he deserves full credit!!!

I hear on the news that on monday a day after the FARC liberaron a las dos mujeres secustraron a 4 hombres incluyendo a un turista europeo. Also Clara Rojas y Consuelo González look incredibly good, compare to the pictures of the ones that still secuestrados, I think there is something BIG detras de esta liberacion, let hope is good and not bad for COLOMBIA
I don't think he has anything up his sleeve right NOW (although you never know. He IS a radical) I think he's probably banking in the future. You know... a little support down the line I think he meant well, overall, and take a little advantage of the situation while he was at it

Kizas cuanto pago Chavez para ke liberen a esos rehenes?! Chavez tiene a Venezuela hundida en la mierd... I went to Caracas on a business trip last year and it was scarry, pobreza everywhere y eso ke me kede en el mejor hotel de Caracas! Kien sabe donde se va todo el dinero del petroleo pero en Caracas no esta! Anywayz, don't get me wrong I hate Bush too but this Hugo guy, eventhough he has a nice name ;) esta dejando la kgada en todos lados! Yeah he helped liberating these ppl but that doesn't mend all the misery he has brought to Venezuela.

Informa el presidente Hugo Chávez que Clara Rojas y Consuelo González fueron liberadas por las FARC y que se encuentran bien
CARACAS, Venezuela, ene. 10, 2008.- El presidente de Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, dijo este jueves que la guerrilla de las FARC ya entregó en territorio colombiano a las dos secuestradas que había prometido liberar, que ha hablado con ellas y que se dirigen a territorio venezolano.
Por medio de "un mensaje directo desde el punto" de la selva colombiana donde fueron entregadas las cautivas, punto que, según dijo Chávez, "desconozco totalmente", el ministro venezolano del Interior, Ramón Rodríguez Chacín, le relató "audiblemente emocionado" que estaba recibiendo en ese momento a las dos rehenes.
Éstas son la ex candidata a la Vicepresidencia de Colombia Clara Rojas, tomada cautiva por las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) el 23 de febrero de 2002, y la ex congresista Consuelo González de Perdomo, retenida desde el 10 de septiembre de 2001.
Una vez que habló con su ministro, Chávez relató que lo hizo con ambas mujeres y también con el responsable guerrillero de la operación.
"Saludé al jefe de la patrulla de las FARC, a Clara y a Consuelo; emocionadas. Me dice el ministro Rodríguez que están en buenas condiciones" de salud, subrayó.
Chávez indicó que "llegarán directamente a tierras venezolanas" en unas tres horas y que, de un aeropuerto que no precisó, irán a Caracas para reunirse con sus familiares.
Por su parte, una delegación del Comité Internacional de la Cruz Roja confirmó la liberación de las rehenes. ____________________________________________________________________
