It's a very nice, flashy phone but it has lots of flaws that doesn't make it attractive to me. Like no dedicated buttoms, built in battery, no open to third party open applications, Ni synching capabilities if you have a Mac, you can't impor ring tunes or us ur MP3 as ring tone, No Java or Flash capabilities, regarding the camera 2MP is not big deal there are phones with 5 MP cameras...

Nothing is certain about a Rogers iPhone launch in Canada. To this point, everything is speculation; but it is expected the iPhone will eventually make it to Canada.
Yes - regular tag price for iPhones in US is $400 (+ taxes) and depending on the phone VERSION, it may be easier/harder to unlock. I am sure X helped a friend unlock a phone and I think things worked very well.
There are different VERSIONS (based on the week it was made and the SOFTWARE installed) of the iPhone 1.1.0, 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 or something along those lines. The two first versions are easier to unlock and supposedly don't require much to do so - cheaper to get it done, if you can not do it yourself. With these versions, you can unlock the phone and insert your SIM card and it's ready to go!
The NEWER version 1.1.2 apparently can not be unlocked with the same ease, and requires you to do "turbo SIM" unlcok, wich apparently requires that you purchace a different (turbo SIM) card and costs an extra $80 or so. With this version, I think I hear you need to cut a little piece off your sim card to make things work - not exactly sure, but it is a bit more compicated.

Quit tugging our chain. When the iPhone was originally launched in the United States months ago, Canadians started to wonder when they'd get treated to some Cupertino-fueled goodness. Rumors and hearsay started to flutter about on the Internet, leading us to believe that the iPhone would hit Rogers Wireless before year's end. There has been neither a confirmation nor a denial from either Rogers or Apple thus far, but this latest leak is again pointing toward the positive.
What you see here is a screenshot from the Apple Canada internal training and seminars site and as you can quite plainly see, there is an iPhone workshop scheduled for November 10th. This could mean one of two things. First, the iPhone could indeed be coming to Canada (probably via Rogers) and they want the Canadian reps to be prepared to answer any of your questions.
The other possibility is that Apple has recognized the proliferation of unlocked iPhones in Canada and thus wants their reps in the Great White North to be reasonably knowledgeable. Whatever the case, it seems that Apple either wants or knows that Canadians want to own (and are owning) the iPhone.

I am going to Vegas next week and bringing one for my sister but was wondering if they are being sold in Toronto, and if they are, how much are they going for?
Thanks
To answer your question: They ARE being sold in Toronto ON CRAIGSLIST, KIJIJI, EBAY, etc... just not directly from a "dealer" such as Rogers or Fido. Of course, because they are not available from an official iPhone carrier, they cost an arm and a leg - $500 minimum is what they ask for - upto $850, or even $900 bucks.
The rumour mill says: Rogers is annoucing shortly a drop in data plans, which could be to keep up with competition, but also may be getting ready to introduce itself as the official carrier of iPhones in Canada. However, Apple (iPhone manufacturer) and Rogers would SUPPOSEDLY like to keep everything hush-hush for obvious business reasons (i.e.: so continue business sales - as opposed to ppl stop buying phones for the next few weeks till iPhone comes)... The Nitty Gritty: Wait for (around) February 14th - Rumours have it they may have an announcement on/around that date.
US: You can likely get an iPhone in the US for $400-440 US after taxes. But likely will need to "unlock" the phone to make it compatible with your Rogers/Fido phone - SIM card phones only are compatible.

What is well known is that Rogers is the biggest Canadian GSM mobile carrier, and that so far Apple and Rogers did not seem to have reached a satisfactory for both sides agreement.
Now, according to a supposed leak from Rogers posted on HowardForums, Rogers is planning to introduce some changes to its mobile internet tariffs, possibly in preparations for iPhones launch, but more likely in order to stay competitive.
According to the leak Rogers Wireless will be offering three new data plans. The first one, called Communicate Package would cost $20 per month, and would include unlimited mobile internet access, 2500 SMS messages, and 1000 MMS messages, with such extras as Caller Id, Name Display, and Voicemail.
The other two data plans are the $7 Vision Internet Package, which includes 50 Video Calling minutes and unlimited on-device mobile browsing, and a regular $7 unlimited WAP mobile browsing package (which doesnt seem to apply to all the devices only Rogers certified devices will be accepted).
Canadian data plans for a long time remained the most expensive in North America, but due to stiffing competition, it seems the situation is slowly changing for the better for the consumer. After Telus recently announced its ambitions to support GSM technology, while Bell recently introduced an unlimited mobile internet plan for the HTC Touch at $7/month, the competition in the industry is warming up while the prices are going down.
The Rogers data plans rate change is rumored to take effect on February 5th. However, it has not been officially confirmed by Rogers, and theres no clear link between the new data plans and iPhones launch in Canada, although wed like to believe otherwise.

iPhone owners should be on guard against a new threat, which fortunately doesn't harm the device, but still induces a freeze by taking all available system memory. According to security firm SecurityFocus, the vulnerability is exposed by a Denial of Service attack, when a maliciously crafted webpage is viewed. The page will insert code into the iPhone, which continually eats up available system memory before causing a kernel panic.

Hot-shot analyst Mike Abramsky again steps up with some obvious and unfounded speculation. According to Bloomberg, Abramsky says that Apple may announce a Canadian iPhone today.
For the record, Abramsky didpredict the iPhone price cut just days after the iHorn's launch. He also said that we would get MMS, instant messaging and GPS, so it seems he uses the scattergun method of "analysis".
Still, a Canadian iPhone has to come sooner or later, so why not in today's Jobsnote? Plus, we get to be the first to run an innuendo laden headline.
You can easily do it yourself if you know what you're doing. Lots of tutorials online. I jailbroke/unlocked mine myself in less than 20 minutes just following the instructions on the web.
