I had a really good time but in terms of songs expectation...tambien me quede MUY corta. I was hoping to hear so many of his own not songs that he wrote with or for others
Therefore I had to blast "El Gran Baron" leaving the parking lot...sorry for the lack of calss maybe ;(
So Baina... I do agree with you.

I did like his concert, it wasn't perfect but the show and the music performance was great. I wanted to hear some of his earlier clasics such as "celos, fantasma, etc" which He performed when he came to Harbourfront 17 years ago. It's hard to believe that Hispanic Fiesta concert was free and it was way better than the last one. HOwever, I'm satisfied; just looking at him and the orchestra is such as great event. By the way...The igloo comments were a joke, he was kidding guys.
I personally am NOT a big salsa music fan, so Mr.Colon to me isn't a big deal to see. I do however felt that several of his comments were in bad taste and made him look slightly ignorant and rude towards his fans in TO. (ie. "Pense que los Candienses vivian en Igloos",yet he lives 12 hours away by car and he thinks WE live in igloos?? )
Did anyone aside from me book that the organizer lady kissed him twice on the lips??
Overall, I do think that whoever paid the $45+ to see him went home with a good show. I sure did, thanks to whoever paid for that ticket...

baina i totally agree with you!! i had alot of exceptations especially willie being such a salsa legend..... he didnt play any of his songs.......
another thing that i didnt like was that his instrumental were a bit too long like the song was about 3 minutes and you would think that they would do something hype for the instrumental and he didnt.....
he was pretty boring if you ask me!!!!

I mean....Willie is one of the Godfather's of Salsa and produced two of the most influential salsa singers of all time in Hector Lavoe and Ruben Blades. He himself has had an outstanding career as a solo artists. I personally think that the artists of yesteryears have to be given the respect still...for their contribution and for paving the way for the artists of today.
Now....if you're not a fan...like yourself....you probably would think that it wasn't worth it.
The people I've spoken to didn't like it because he didn't do many of "HIS" songs. He did many of the songs he created with Hector Lavoe....like "che che cole", "el cantante", etc......but not many of his...."el gran varon", "sin poderte hablar", etc.....
I know it's hard to please the entire crowd...especially for an artist with such an extensive career.....many people like different songs....so someone is bound to be upset because certain songs didn't get played........I'm usually understanding about that......but with this concert....it didn't feel like HIS concert......
Let me make this clear right off the bat.....THIS IS NOT A COMMENT ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OR THE ORGANIZERS OF THE EVENT.....it's my personal commentary of the how the show was for me.
Didn't like. Was disappointed with the performance and the song selection.
